If i had to guess riding practice didn't violate contracts but racing would have?

As it's been said, TFR has a lot of resources, so getting a sponsor-correct helmet probably wouldn't have been that hard with their obligation to 100%. Redbull was "probably" but definitely possibly not okay with things. You'd imagine that in an extreme situation, a plain helmet with RB logos would suffice for them.
Sponsor obligations are a lot less forgiving than you'd think. It's one thing to be using/trying something away from cameras but at a race venue filled with cameras....
It may not sound like the "fairest" of situations and people may want to say things like "Why can't TFR or whoever just be cool about this," but it's called being sponsored.
Now, if there's a safety issue or a loss of confidence in the product, it creates a whole other debate about sponsor obligations.
Is it possible that he trashed his spare helmet on the 1st day at MSA? I doubt a replacement would be available between then and qualifying the next day.
You have worked on the new DH frame? What makes them a nightmare?
Imagine this. I'm your title sponsor. I'll pay you $100,000.00 USD to race. You can pick any production DH frame in the world to run. We will buy 10 of them, repaint them and put the "team name" on it. You still picking GT?

I'd imagine if Im at a level of racing where a sponsor was willing to do this I'd also be in the position to purchase several frames and do some testing to see what I like the most prior to choosing my race season frame.
That GT has shown to throw down some fast times this year in the world cup. I mean shit pinkertons times were not far off the elite men's times and Ethan Craik rallied that bike hard this year... may as well get a hold of one and see what it's all about.

He also didnt race in Snowshoe so that seems unlikely.

Why's that? We know he crashed heavily into a tree and didn't race Snowshoe as a result (and probably wrecked a helmet looking at the footage), but I'm thinking if he had a spare he could've damaged it at MSA early in practice (happy to admit I'm not enough of a sleuth to try to work out what helmet he's wearing in what edit).

just posted interviews from MSA and some interesting things said in there. danny says he hasn't signed a contract yet, jordi says FOX is a big company and their budget is made. calendar specifics are unknown and if he needs more money to race, that may be difficult, wyn mentions spending time in USA, gwin mentions things announced in the next month or so. good stuff from the ground.

They absolutely destroyed the pits that night...we had locked literally everything inside but there was still trash everywhere. Lots of teams had stuff stolen and or damaged. Not my favorite venue to be honest. One guy tried to steal my wheelbag on the way to qualies and I almost crashed my rider's training bike super hard. I had to rip my wheelbag out of his hand. Had the trainer on one side of the handlebar and the bag on the other.
Full of shit. I’ve lived here my whole life. I barely ever lock my front door.
Apparently, you're not a victim. Until you've become a victim. I love it up there. 3 hours to the border from where I grew up. I've traveled all over QC racing, snowmobiling, partying and just visiting my friends up there. Still means anyone I know that's not from there still parks a certain way or triple locks their trailers, etc because you can't trust your valuables being safe there all the time.
On a better note, where do you think Daniel ends up next year?

Interested to hear the reply. From the outside it looks like GT made those frames with 148 rear ends specifically to make things easier for privateers.
The frame is super easy to work on and is an amazing ride. Not sure where you got that they are hard to work on. I have been working on them for over a year and they are much better than the older frame and the riders love them.

• GT bicycles ends their factory race DH program but Wyn Masters has been secretly in the back rooms working on keeping the riders on the same team with GT being just the frame supplier. The team continues a Privateer help system which helps get more sponsors involved for the team as they want that good PR.

I suspect they're referring to the frame that broke at VDS under Roger Vieira. I don't think there's been widespread breakage aside from that. I could well be wrong though.
Looks like a great bike to me otherwise, but I have to admit seeing that photo is alarming at first.

I know that the only frame Ryan Pinkerton broke, was hitting a tree in Tennessee. Other than that he has been on the same frame all year with zero issues. He tends to be very hard on bikes.

Trek Factory racing is sponsored by 100%, so there you go.

Didn't Kade get a concussion in MSA. Maybe his 100% helmet was a write off, and didn't have a backup in North America, so borrowed a Red Bull helmet that fit for MSA. Would be enough to get "banned" by Trek to appease a team sponsor?
Maybe not following concussion protocol is more likely? Would lead to a lack of insurance I would think.

hoping Wyn's MSA XCO coverage is a pilot/sign of expansion of his series for next year! adds a new dimension to XCO that makes it more relatable (personable? exciting? involved?) for me, personally

Pidcock almost seemed stunned that Wyn was still asking him questions as they walked. Liked that part.
Would be cool to see Zerode at world cup, their new bike looks sweet. Was there any rider riding that bike at MSA? If not, we can be relatively sure they were showing the bike to potential team/riders. Does anyone knows how MS operate? Do they just get frames (+R&D) or were they also financially supported by Mondraker?

You can be assured that all the big teams get $$$ by their frame sponsors, especially when they are also the title sponsor of the team.

Well this wonderful piece of journalism has shed light on some debated topics:
- Union will be back again in 2024!
- The schedule and format has yet to formally shared in a broad fashion. Lots of teams and organizations working off of sketchy information.
- Team fees doubled last year to this season and many anticipate them to rise again.

Contrary to news that Union had told all riders they were done?
Wonder what changed?

MS Zerode next year?
If the rumor of who MS is talking to comes to fruition, it will surprise everyone outside the pits.
Maybe not following concussion protocol is more likely? Would lead to a lack of insurance I would think.
Guessing the conversations in the pits were fairly Intense
Not sure they covered the whole gamut of topics
Did GT piss in your Cheerios or something? Sheesh

marzocchi or manitou shock?
In your pic, the guy holding the bike has a MS shirt.
I'd say Marzo form the stickers and the angle between the main body and the little can

Nice to meet you Mr. Pinkerton.
Sponsor changed
What a roller coaster of emotion for young people killing it.
I'm told it was at first a huge letdown, but then the news of the new sponsor was a huge boost for them. Look out for them in 24.
Union to GT? 🤷🏻♂️
You'll have to bring that idea on a long hike across country.
