It is in the Czech language, but Google Translate will handle that.

I really hope you're right, but I think that's just the Wilson HP frame from 2020 the Dak was on.

They say its only for data and development - maybe they will build multiple bikes to test, guess we will have to wait an see. Im not sure the 2021 Meta was a "forward" move as clearly we seen a quick revision in the SX version being released but theyve kept the Normal Meta AM in the line for now(stock thats already orderd?)
I Demo'd the Normal Meta AM, and its for sure a tank for plowing, downsizing worked but it felt cramped when i pedaled it from the demo zone to lift.

Oh man, if they actually start the 1.8" on everything prep for a shit show the first few months. We needed to swap a fork from a 1.8 to a 1.5 on an ebike for a warranty issue, and there are zero after market companies selling a 1.8 to 1.5 adapter race other than Acros and when we got one, we realized it only fit their headsets. Chris King basically told us they weren't interested in helping in any way. Giant has some on back order. Cane Creek was extremely helpful even if they didn't make one yet but still came up empty for now.

For a standard that's been on the books for 2-3 years, there's zero support from any distributors or companies for the aftermarket.

This looks super interesting:
"Hubrschmidt"

The Classified Powershift is a wireless two-speed rear hub that connects either to your electronic shifter or a separate shift button fitted to the handlebars using Bluetooth. Inside the hub, two gears can be found. The first is a 1:1 ratio, essentially transferring the same gear as if it didn't exist. The second is a 1:0.686 ratio, effectively reducing the size of the front chainring by 31.4 per cent, which in reality would mean a 52T front chainring is accompanied by a 'virtual' chainring of 36T.

It's only 2 gears but it basically replaces the front chain rings...all in the hub. Currently it mimics a 52t/36t road setup but it should easily get to a classic mtb 38t/22t setup.
I'm really interested to see it develop.
Since large cassettes and massive deralieurs became the norm I've been itching to get back to a small cage and cassette for decreased weight and increased durability. The hub does add weight but that will hopefully be offset by the smaller mech and cassette it allows.
Apparently it shifts under load and without pedalling!! Thats the dream surely!? Even if it's only 2 gears

Let 1.8" just die slowly and silently and fade away. Seems the industry is doing it for us.

Saw one of these in the flesh on a gravel bike at work, had a pedal around and it seems to work really well, shifts under load smoothly between the 2 gears. Really interesting to see if it gets picked up as it would be great to run a smaller cassette/shorter cage mech for clearance and then have the 2 ratios for climbing/descending. The shifter was really neatly intergrated under the bartape on the bike I saw, be interesting to see how well it could be built into a shifter/button for MTB use. It doesn't currently connect to Sram AXS but apparently they are working on it, could be cool to have 2 'shifter' buttons on the left hand controller, one for dropper, one for rear hub.

If both the hub and cassette shift under load then surely they could program the AXS derailleur and hub to shift from the one up and down button, so that you always shift to the next closest ratio, whatever that combination may be.

At some point you will have to cross the cassette if you want a small cassette only. Which will be cumbersome with human power any way you look at it.

It would make most sense with bigger jumps between gears on the cassette and use this hub gear to double up the number of gears. So six or seven cogs for 12 or 14 gears. But you'd still need a 40t large chainring and a somewhat standard derailleur. It would be a lot narrower though.

And you'd need electronic shifting to achieve that as the hub would shift back and forth every time with the cassette doing a shift only every second time.

I think I've already talked about this here anyway. That hub is far from something new...

The hub doesn’t move in this case… and it already is electronically shifted.
Roadies are already using it with regular 11 and 12 speed cassettes.
So all you need a compensation shift when you change the hub gears. Both Di2 and AXS road groups can already be programmed to do this, so when you shift on the front the automatically compensates.
In this case it could be even better because you’re not asking the chain to do shift front and rear at the same time.

FSA has reducer races for that. 1.8 bearing to 1.5 steerer. Reach out to them. Designed for their headset but might work with others. But they definitely make them.

The thing is a 2x in the front shifts... 4 gears in the rear? With a 6-speed small cassette you're adding a completely different range of gears and are required to shift across the cassette. So it's a different concept.

Some new Boxxer shots from 3:37 onwards. Buttercups are present, dunno about the airpsing sealhead, is it red or gold? The first proto in the shots also doesn't have the vent valves, the second does.

Did a little Linkage play with that Meta prototype; not an exact copy of the photo but should be an okay approximation as usual. The lower link rotates a tiny bit counter-clockwise (how much it rotates depends on the angle of the upper link) before switching and moving clockwise through the rest of the travel, as guessed earlier in the thread. The leverage rate seems really sensitive to positioning of the links and shock, and overall looks pretty smooth, with a bit of a dip upwards at the end (seems to work really well with an air shock to lessen the ramp-up). Anti-rise is right around 90-95% throughout most of the trave, with a spike upwards at the end, and anti-squat is around 105-115%% at 30% sag (with BB height around 1065mm) and a mostly parabolic shape.

The current boxxer is custom, but the first 35 mm, 26" variant was a Lyrik with longer legs by the look of things at the time (barring any internal details), so it makes sense to reuse the castings if possible.

Latest dialed with Dak explaining they have a new new link with some changes to the suspension, how it's not really nice for them to get them so late and not being able to prepare before the WC, that they are less than ideally prepared at races, etc., but that it's nice they are iterating so quickly.

Basically confirming what we were talking about here.

how many of the riders that dropped chains at Bill were using the new Saint groupset? thought I might've seen a pattern there

How many races is it going to take trek to come up with a better chain guide solution? Personally i've had problems with a rider of mine dropping chains left and right with the new session. Something about the high pivot arc really lowers the BB and exposes it to rock hits, just like Reece at snowshoe last year.

I was in and out of the room till the top 20 and only saw Vergier and Kerr have chain issues. Honest curiousity, who else did?

Isn't Kerr on the current Saint? S@!t happens sometimes and personally, I'm amazed there weren't more mechanicals at Fort Bill.

Antonie Vidal had a chain/chainring problem, but I think he hitted a big rock... wonder if he was using a bash guard ( I think he didn't)

Loris. Sram.

How many riders with dropped chains were on high pivots/idlers? Didn't really watch the stream.

Same trick they pulled to make the first 29er Boxxer protos. Lyrik legs, even running a 15mm axle
