I think it looks really promising, especially if Bilstein can solve a problem with their inaugural product launch that nobody else has successfully figured out I imagine that, along with the available funds, would certainly get the attention of a few race teams. ...I'm just holding out for the King MTB suspension to drop lol

Ronan Dunne mentioned in a post-race interview with Sven Martin that he ran the new Maxxis "High Roller 3" on the front for his winning run.

That Bilstein patent looks super interesting... I played with a few frequency sensitive valves at RS but could never get them to work smoothly and/or be durable. They would ride great on small bump but then you'd hit something that 'bottomed' the frequency sensitive part and it would bang or spike the damping. Would be cool to see Bilstein enter the MTB market.

At first glance it looks like pretty much all impacts would go through the IFP system until the IFP has bottomed out inside it's bore and then things would flow 100% through the shim stack. As long as the IFP can reset from its bottomed out position you'd be able to have access to that super light damping at any point unlike with a bypass. Whether that's for better or worse deep in travel, I'm not sure. In the automotive world Bilsteins are usually fantastic bang for your buck. I'd hope that would transfer over as well.

Anybody posted this yet? Saw the serial number of one of those fox live valve shocks and entered it on the ridefox site as a joke

Another video but longer of the Dual suspension in action. This shows really well how the fork works as normal on the regular bumps etc with the secondary suspension really coming into play when the bumps are larger and more edgy...steers well enough....feels quite normal for the most part. https://youtu.be/hddzew0K_W0?si=cLNKOG_s_h8uUBiB

Heres a quick Vid of the Dual suspension in Action. I finally managed to pull my finger out and get this organised.....a lost Gopro.....a new Gopro that refused to work ( Gopro are rubbish these days it seems ) then buying a new Insta360 Ace Pro to arrive at the present situation....all I have to do now is learn to properly use it. I have a few more longer Vids I plan to publish in the near future showing the Dual suspension working in action. So this quickly shows both the Telefork Fox36/160 working along with the Upper link suspension...

So just done 4 months of regular riding on the bike and its prototype front suspension...which I call the Smithage system. So far not a single major issue with the front suspension....I have done a little bit of fine tuning of the valving of the FOX DPS shock as it is desiged/specced to be used in a link rear suspension with some degree of leverage ratio and so was a little harsh in its high speed comp valving and also sorted the rebound valving to suit the lower 95psi air pressure I need to run as its being used in...

Maybe I'm wrong on this but Ive noticed the companies that do super boost (evil, pivot, knolly) all have pretty short chain stays. Does the wider hub allow for a stronger rear triangle that can be shorter?

A friend at the shop I used to work at says they're getting Transmission problems all the time (mostly imprecise setup and some have had the mount start 'chewing' into the frame, but no broken stays as far as I know). Seems like it's generally better suited to a high standard of frame quality and very careful setup, two things not typically associated with most mountain bikes and their riders Wink
