The derailleur plug-in already exists, but they're so hush-hush about it. Trek and Scott had them on some e-bikes. They apparently have a tiny battery to give you 100 or so shifts in the worst of situations. Dropper is going to require quite a redesign and space is already at a premium at the bottom of a dropper. From what I was told, SRAM went with the Shimano motor mounting pattern for immediate and easy installation onto existing bikes. Makes a lot of sense to flood the market quickly, especially if there's no real issue with the mounting pattern. Ruh-roh...

Fantastic job on the US Open Finals video! I really appreciated the intro portion and the overview with Clay Harper. They have a lot to be proud of.

Payout for this is rad, but after going to the supermotocross finals last night, all these dudes probably thinkin they are doing the wrong sport. watching deegan take home half a mill winning the minor league class really makes you realize how niche MTB is still.

I've been watching pits bits from Les gets and I noticed something interesting, Scott team is running Shimano drivetrains and as expected they use saint cranks (real ones not like Laurie lol) but they are also on ochain, so it seems to me they either bodged it somehow (and I find that very hard to believe that they would remove the spider and we're able to somehow reliably reattach suitable mounting interface back on the crank arm) or possibly new saint cranks will be the same as previous generation just with dm chainring. The video in question https://youtu.be/vHhBc61VPXo?si=m1mJAVWcw6ZXrgx9 Scott section...

Pivot have their new DW DH prototype, so it could be a new pivot. Idk what other brands have licensed DW6?

Why does DH have to be like F1? Gets tiring be compared to other sports. the only improvement DH needs is better pay for the riders.

In my experience it’s a lot less about where something is made and mostly about cost/demand. If bike companies were pushing Taiwan to meet quality control at the price point they wanted vs meeting quotas at the price point they wanted then Taiwan would adjust its processes. Simply the market wants a LOT of bikes at an “affordable” price. The good brands just warranty what they have to and the bad ones just pass the flops onto the customer. if you buy an American made fender guitar vs a Mexican made fender guitar the quality control is very very similar...

That looks absolutely awesome, compared to normal helmet cam previews, being able to see Dakota and his bike sliding and bouncing about really helps to show how cool and off camber the track is. The Andorra B Practice Podcast discussing brakes is quite good timing for this track; more oil, thicker everything, and more power seems like it would be sweet here, especially for us over 190lb people. It's amazing how many commenters on YouTube are saying that this course is a flow trail and possibly the worst world cup track ever.

Looks like the track (DH) has been taped very wide, and it's very steep. It will also cut in a lot as there are lots of fresh sections. It looks nothing like the previews However if there is a track you don't want to ride in the wet it might be this one 😆. Keen to see the racing.

Update from Cami: As most of you might know I had the biggest crash in my career in Vallnord, Andorra. I was blown by a sudden wind gust on the road gap in my quali run, apparently crashed hard on the landing. As of today, I don’t remember the accident. I’m suffering from a moderate head trauma and contusions in my chest, but no broken bones. I’ll be staying in a neuro rehabilitation center in Switzerland for a few weeks but should make full recovery. I’m very sad and disappointed to miss the rest of the season but getting better...
