8/9/2024 7:59pm That doesn't surprise me at all your numbers are probably spot on, I guess the only other thing to consider is that when their buddy is considering a couple bikes you could chime in "I rode one of those at a demo day and it was awesome!" could maybe lead to a sell I guess.

8/9/2024 7:57pm Marketing (the department where demo programs live) is typically the first place to get their budget cut when sales slump. A friendly reminder that not all marketing is evil. Free demo programs are pretty great for customers.

8/9/2024 7:57pm Wow, that's crazy. I thought the U.S. has been off the gold standard since Nixon in '71. Oh wait, I don't think we're supposed to get into politics here.

8/1/2024 9:33pm Personally, Oneup is the main brand I would say I'm loyal to. Their posts and bars specifically are absolutely amazing for the price. Also, shoutout to MTX braking for the killer CS, excellent experience there. One brand I will not be buying from in the future will be Knolly. waited 12.5 months for a replacement frame (didn't even end up...

8/1/2024 9:26pm I usually get sold on a brand due to their customer care. Cannondale screwed me over and made a handful of empty promises to me as a 12 year old, I’m now 36, and have made sure to go out of my way to never buy a single Cannondale related product, and steer everyone I had the chance to, away from a Cannondale product. On the flip side, I needed a bike in a hurry earlier this year and bought a used Banshee. I emailed their generic email address asking about shock tunes as the stock shock was blown. Within...

8/1/2024 9:25pm I don’t really think I have brand loyalty but I will stay away from some brands like e13, crank brothers, specialized and Tune based on my own experience with some of their products and in the case of Tune because the importer in my country seems to be a complete asshat. I just can’t bring myself to buy anything specialized after that whole petty “roubaix” thing. I was given a pair of 2fo flat shoes by my wife and they’re very good but it doesn’t count because I didn’t buy them myself damn it! Won’t buy fox suspension either but...

8/1/2024 9:23pm Being helped and treated right thru warranties is the way to earn my loyalty. The worst feeling in MTB is when your shit breaks. It makes it much more bearable when you know you can go home, send an email to get yourself sorted.

8/1/2024 9:23pm Been using Hope stuff for 25+ years. Got to know Simon (founder RIP) and have visited the factories a few times. Good stuff made by a company with a good ethos who look after their customers and employees.

8/1/2024 9:21pm Well, here’s one thing I can already say that is very positive about Padmelon. I placed my order yesterday but was hemming and hawing about whether to order for my DH bike or enduro bike. I decided enduro and quickly ordered as I was late getting out the door. Apparently I had mistakenly added the mount for my DH bike instead of my enduro bike but had ordered the correct damper. The Padmelon team caught it, sent me an email and told me they would hold the order until I confirmed. This saved me a lot of time and money and...

8/1/2024 9:17pm Internal routing is super simple on Scott bikes because of the big hatch you open to access the shock, and you’re going to prolong shock life simply by less exposure to the elements and potentially allow for better performance in wet conditions - its a gimmick and if you asked me 12 months ago id have whole heartedly agreed with you - but honestly the more I see them in person the more im starting to like them.

7/25/2024 8:43pm You know what's really super awesome? When the SC bikes do finally get released like this, we'll get ANOTHER 5 pages of people rehashing the same points ad nauseum.
