Another person speaking out of their ass and doing no research lol. The internals of the brake are definitely different than Trickstuff, they have their own patents on the brake too. Yes they definitely took some design cues on how the lever looks but internally it's not a copy. Pretty amazing we can get a brake of this quality for under $500 but of course you still have people looking for something to complain and argue over.

Stoked to see another person happy with the Lewis brakes. Also love to see the racists downvoting any post with the word Lewis in it Everyone I know who's gotten a set has been blown away by the performance, and everyone who seems to dismiss them has never even tried them let alone seen them in person

A couple of things I’ve found help to get the absolute best out of the newer Hope brakes. 1 while performing the gravity bleed with the bleed cup on the lever start with the pistons retracted into the calliper, then when the fluid is all coming through fresh extend the pistons and then open the bleed reservoir and allow about 10-15 seconds of fluid movement. Reset the pistons back in, followed by a further 10-15 seconds of gravity bleed. This seems to ensure no air can get trapped behind a piston… 2 once you’ve finished a bleed leave a bleed...

You don't need different tunes, just use different weight oils. The solution already exists, I know some of the elite XC people use an oil that's called almost water (I can't remember it's exact name, it's 2.5WT from memory? Someone will know what I mean). It's much easier to sell the same product, and just swap oils, that way you can onsell it, or gain weight, or lose weight, and it's like $2 of fluids instead of labour on rebuilding your stack.

New riders and advanced riders all in the same bucket with only 10 clicks to separate them. As bikes change and skills advance more quickly, this assembly line damping process struggles to keep up with the changes. None of the fork companies would ever do this, but wouldn’t it be interesting if they just offered a chassis? You could build the forks tuning from the ground up with whatever tuner you think is best…

I was under the impression that after a while most E13 hubs have a disnengaging /disintegrating ratchet system.

One the topic of aerodynamic clothing the course ski racing can be informative. FIS has extensive rules governing the permeability of gs suits and the clothing that can be worn underneath as impermeable rubberized layers are more aerodynamic than other woven cloths. FIS tests suits and prohibits the wearing of swim suits and similar materials underneath suits. one interesting thing to think about is training speed. In ski racing a run in a gs suit is ~5-10% faster, a difference that is noticeable and sometimes disorienting if you don’t train in a suit. Even if the fox kits aren’t legal...

While the change in travel is minimal, the change in leverage ratio is also pretty minimal but can be noticeable depending on the bike. On some bikes, I've needed to add a couple of psi to achieve the same sag percentage when switching to the longer chainstay position.
