Ok, but the pictured shock is the 2025 linear XL air can as AndehM mentioned. If Rockshox Genie is a thing, this ain't it. Edit: I think it's funny that RS released this air can which increases air volume and makes the shock generally more linear. HOWEVER, you can fit way more progression tokens into this can than the last one so if you'd like, you can install this can and tune it to feel exactly the same as the old one.

I know there is a 2 year exclusivity for specialized and fox for the genie. I just can’t remember what they said happens after that. It could be that speci will loop rockshox in at that point, so we could theoretically be seeing or will see a rockshox genie either being tested or going to market. Again, I can’t remember how the speci/fox genie exclusivity thing works

yeesh sorry. Unfortunately for all of us... I don't think there is going to be feverish new releases of tech on pedal bikes as our gear/sport is maturing. Headset/geo adjust seems like innovation to me in this space and seems representitive of the small gains in value/usability we're likely going to see. But who knows, maybe I'm wrong and this doesn't count for anything and of course rule 35 of the internet, is that forum threads MUST stay on topic. It's almost as universally true as rule 34.

No shit, when I had my first gen stumpy evo (in my sig) I would take a spare shock in my car because chances are the side loading would kill one. I wore the head on the shock mount bolt out from removing it so much lol Cane Creek still has a photo of me on their dartboard!

Million dollar idea: every frame comes with three headtubes welded in a neat row to the front of it. Users can play around with reach to their heart's content, then use an angle grinder to cut off whichever ones they don't end up using. Or save them all for resale value. Choose your own adventure.

Regarding caliper side bleeds, I've never pushed fluid from that end first. After a bleed where there was clearly brake pad dust in the fluid, I always load up the lever end syringe with enough fluid to push out what's in the caliper, dump the caliper side syringe(s) in the used fluid jar, clean the syringes if the fluid looks grimey, fill them back up with fluid as well as adding more fluid to the lever side syringe then performing the bleed/air bubble removal dance.

I feel that heavy braking is the largest contributor/least discussed for pedal kick. The situation where you might be locking up the rear brake but still using a good amount of travel is the exact situation where you’d really want your suspension performing at its best

Im under the assumption that you do work for PUSH, and if so I want to say I appreciate you contributing to the forum. It is really cool to see the insights of companies through those that actually built or worked on developing the products. A lot more comforting too. In all honesty, Im broke and I just downgraded to a Chromag hardtail (Actually an upgrade in some aspects), but your comment alone really makes me reevaluate PUSH as a company in a good way. I support this POV, as someone who recently picked up a 2022 35mm Boxxer Ultimate for $500. 35mm bad! Keep these forks cheap and introduce people like me who haven't spent time on a DH bike to the awesomeness of dual crown forks. 35mm for park/freeride. 38mm for race. (although the 38mm on the Status 170 didn't feel overly stiff or race-y imo)

Please buy my DH fork that's been ridden super hard and never serviced. The oil seals don't leak because there's not enough oil left in the lowers to properly lubricate the bushings. If you can deflect a 35mm Boxxer to the point it's truly an issue, I'll be the first one to cheer for you on the WC circuit or at Rampage.

I've been to Rampage a couple of times, and never had a ticket. In my experiene there's a parking lot and a spot where they're checking tickets before you hike in to the venue. The venue is pretty far away from the parking lot. I just walk a quarter mile away down the road and hop a fence and then walk to the venue with everyone else who just went through the gate. It's in the middle of the desert, so it's pretty easy to work out. I don't try to get into the VIP areas, but I've never had...
