Seems like he's running into the same issue encountered in the Vital review, but didn't take the time to troubleshoot. The Mavens do have an extra step now, which requires a few cycles of the pistons to get things primed and set into place. The initial setup requires two to three cycles of the pistons through their full range of motion to help the two-step seals settle into place and center. I made the genius decision of ignoring this step on my initial setup and can confirm it is necessary. After referring to the troubleshooting portion of the owner's manual...

Or maybe he finally realised that no fork with gold or orange on it belongs anywhere near a mountain bike!

We’re getting into weight weenie rumors here, but idk man, I don’t really feel like a 34lb 130mm trail bike is really acceptable. I have a c3 optic with double down rear tire and it’s like 31 lbs and it seems more than capable/sturdy enough. My old process 153 with double down tires was 30lbs. bikes have gotten a lot better since 2016 but definitely gotten way more chonky.

I don’t disagree. Not sure of the tire spec or anything else. I’m kind of old-school. 34 pounds for what is essentially a 125mm bike is a tad hefty in my book. Especially for a medium. If it has double down tires and inserts, then yeah. Weight is spot on.

Maybe they will get away from the stupid trunnion mount shock. I'd love to try a Banshee but i won't own a trunnion mount frame. Has to be the worst standards ever introduced into mountain biking. Unless you're a suspension shop, then they are good for business i guess.
