I was genuinely intrigued and was thinking of buying one of his stems because the BMB ones are so damn expensive, but an advertisement that calls people who disagree "haters and low IQ" immediately kills any chance of sending money his way.

That guy continues to strive for the asshole of the year award. Any validity of his opinion has been removed by that kneepad/short gap and that’s even before we talk about his “low IQ” dismissal of everyone who dares to disagree with him 😂

Why do you think a flexible bar would ride like trash? Also when you say bars are not close to the ultimate strength and the like, with aluminium you need some safety because cycling it the strength will lower. If you start close to the ultimate limit, the bar will crack through very little use. With carbon it is a bit different, but yeah. I think it might make sense to have a discussion on how much safety you need. The more the better to be sure, but if it adds stiffness that you don't want, there's a middle ground...

If you make bars compliant in all directions they feel rather vague. Just try any XC oriented 31.8 bars. Not exactly confidence inspiring

I know, just pointing out additional factors to not consider this as something from the Atherton stable. Going along the lines of asking 'who uses DW4'. Athertons do, but on their machined bikes.
