1/25/2025 10:37am I also recognize that top link but can't place it. But I've absolutely seen it before. It looks a little like a Vitus Sommet 297 link, but it looks a lot like an Airdrop Edit MX link:. Did I scroll through this entire list of 186 bike companies to find these two examples? Maybe. Did it feel better to scratch that itch, and help me avoid doing homework? Absolutely.

1/16/2025 7:48pm Yes, something else is happening. All of the following is a guess, but I think a pretty good one. Gates, a company already well known for Motorcycle belts and that according to google, has $830m in revenue but has only dabbled in cycling in the fringes for years is saying LFG. They likely want in on the E-bike market as mixed motors/drivetrains evolve and full power E-bikes ditch derailleurs because lets be honest, traditional drivetrains just don't hold up as well under an e-bike mashing, and they know DH is going to test the to the limits. This is going...

1/13/2025 11:48am SH: "...It’s actually been super disappointing that many long-time sponsors that I have stayed loyal to throughout my career can’t even make an effort to reply to emails or messages." Damn, choosing to not pick up the phone/email when SH calls is a choice for sure. He's not on top of the game anymore but at least pitch him some gear ffs.

12/29/2024 7:14pm All anyone needs to know about how small the field of dh racing is - a $100k prize is enticing. $100k is barely a rounding error in most pro sports.

12/20/2024 11:04pm Hmm I disagree with your final assessment. Creation and destruction are necessary to push development and try to keep prices competitive. It's actually a good thing so many newish brands have entered the market recently and some old ones are closing. It shows innovation and improvements in the market instead of stagnation. It only feels bad as we place cultural and personal value to brands we've used as kids, and it's sad to see them go. But if you swap the product to something banal like laundry detergent, nobody would care if brands come and go if the product keeps...

12/4/2024 4:06pm ...or larger companies cant be risky enough to invest into partnership with a company from mainland China that might be banned from the US market (entirely or in parts) ... or larger companies have business contracts with the current manufacturers that span years and have amendments for future deals ... or larger companies don't want to jump the ship too...

12/3/2024 10:12am Curious to try the new High Roller. Switched to the super soft DH Krypto FRs (front and back) two years ago on both the DH and enduro bike and while grip performance vs. Maxxis' top offerings has been about equal (subjective preference, both excellent), I've found rolling resistance to be slightly better but the wear is massively improved so performance drops off much later plus I'm spending less on tires. Similar pressures as the Assegais they replaced. Lots of good options out there.
