Been running enduro/soft 2.4"s on my trail bike for well over a year, no real complaints other then waiting for Conti to get off their ass and release the enduro/super soft iteration.

Curious to try the new High Roller. Switched to the super soft DH Krypto FRs (front and back) two years ago on both the DH and enduro bike and while grip performance vs. Maxxis' top offerings has been about equal (subjective preference, both excellent), I've found rolling resistance to be slightly better but the wear is massively improved so performance drops off much later plus I'm spending less on tires. Similar pressures as the Assegais they replaced. Lots of good options out there.

I know they already made one with a vivid and that was funny enough but for some reason seeing an X2 stroked to make 125mm just tickles me. Norco went so unhinged with the Optic build and I absolutely love them for it. Short travel high pivot... Entire separate linkage to run MX... and offering stock Vivid/X2 options for 125 travel lol. Surely these product dev team meetings have gotta be a blast.

There are really multiple types of MTB riding. I'll mention two of them and we will call them "classic" and "modern" to differentiate them. Classic type is where you go out and ride natural trails in the wilderness. Modern is more bmx and moto inspired and has lots of jumps on groomed trails with higher overall speeds. The rise of bike parks has made modern riding much more accessible. I would say that jumping is the riskiest thing you can do on a mountain bike. More people jumping = more serious injuries.

Bought a Countershox/countersycle unit. I haven't ridden it yet so I can't comment on the ride quality, but I have already taken it apart. It appears to have a Brass(?) mass inside which is super tight in the outer tube. I guess this is some sort of friction damping, as the springs are really soft. The marks on the Brass are from when I took it out of the housing. No oil or lubricant inside the unit apart from grease on the springs. Will put it back together and take it for a ride.

regarding the durability of the outlier pendulum or void pedal, Andrew Major has a set of each and has a good track record when he was at NSMB and Bike Mag (only writes at his own blog for now https://meatengines.com/ ) for long term review and teardown so if long term issue should arise we will most likely hear about it. And yes those pedals have 2 6902 bearing per pedals and a chunky looking steel axle that needs to be properly torqued to 30nm for correct preload on those bearings. So not a pedal for the frequent parking lot...

The best thing about those pedals for me would be how they should eliminate the need to replace bent and snapped pins after almost every ride (I suck and lots of rocks around here). I can't buy canadian made though because there is always a risk some of my money will end up supporting canadian hockey.

Yup. And they were told to not be a copy cat again before release but apparently ignored it. Copying arguably the best brake on the market and even doing improvements AND then iterating on them with more improvements is one thing. Blindly copying the most well known CNC crank on the market that is not even the best design for. A crank is just pure laziness... I was in the give the benefit of doubt camp before this release, now there is no helping them.

Thanks for the post (and noting the broken link). I just took care of it. As to the questions... 1) Its pretty light. The low variant has a smaller magnet and weighs ~66 grams (total) whereas the medium and tall variant have larger magnets and weigh ~88 grams (total). Running Schwalbe Alberts, Trail casing super soft on 160/140 travel trail bike. They are crazy good, they just erase small trail chatter. Running 3-4psi more than previous tires, at 27F/30R and still feel like I could go up without any issues with traction. When climbing tech they deform and grip amazingly well and with the pressure I'm running no issues rimming-out on chunky rock or rolling when loaded into corners. Have multiple trail rides and two park days on them so far. Have been using Maxxis Assegai/DHRII in Exo+/Maxxterra combo and Vittoria Mazza in Trail/4C casing/compound on this bike this...
