FWIW Transition does not void the warranty if you use a Cascade Link.

The old frames broke due to poor design/manufacturing. Factor of safety was much too low. They don't have that issue anymore. If you swap the link on a bike that's going to break anyway it will still break so not really a good example. In fact if you made it less progressive you'd break it even worse when the shock slammed into the bottom out bumper. Do we do mechanical testing? It would be wasteful to break frames just to do it since all you would learn is that you have to bottom out really hard to break it. You...

I'm sure it was the cushcore that got them the wins.

borrowed a friends bike for a bit and it had cushcore valves and i went for a ride with all the confidence that there was cushcore in it. i could feel immediately there was no cushcore in the tires and i ended up denting the rims kinda bad. all my bikes need cushcore always no more messed up rims way better traction way better ride feel

yeah, I guess the pandemic is over... wait, it's not. as much as I want to get back to normal, watch downhill (or any) racing, and ride with others...it's kinda dumb to let your guard down this close to the what looks like the end. trying to find a mask in the crowd is like playing "where's waldo"

That’s because many of the brands you mentioned above are still on strict lock downs at this moment.

The camera and editing seems a step up this year. Nice work as always. Thanks for putting these out!

Interesting idea Nico mentions that extra grip is coming from your feet! I totally agree with you and TeamRobot in his (totally sweet) Inside Line Podcast— as a over 6ft tall person the longer chainstay bikes always feel better especially in flat turns and such, with seemingly no downside.

Enjoying these a lot. I'm finding the longer the CS the better (for my XL sized bike) and this is on a trail bike. Front traction without all the extra work of heavily weighting the front is the reason.

Isak was absolutely ripping on that weird bike. I'm impressed that he can make a bike that's so different from the accepted norm and still works. 0mm stem and 510mm chainstays? Apparently, it's rideable.

Initially we did for sure as we use very high tech equipment which requires highly skilled/trained people, but are in a recreational industry. This often had us being overlooked by talent in fields like aerospace where people thought MTB's were just toys. Now, we've built enough legitimacy as a precision manufacturer with all the high tech toys and have been able to draw talent from the Boeing/Tesla/Medical of the world. This has come from our partnerships with companies like DMG-Mori and Sandvik who are leaders in their fields of high tech manufacturing and often use us as a case study.

We've invested heavily in people, and still are, as this thing doesn't work without them. It has taken us some time for sure, but we have a strong team, and now have a great process for finding talent and integrated them into our environment efficiently.

Lucky for me my bike has 425 chainstays and a 425 reach. Maybe I’m the lucky one at 5’3”?

This took me a few days to listen to but I loved it. Nice work Vital! I was fortunate to ride with Charlie and his see his van when he rolled through my neighborhood after I chewed out one of his sponsors for him making a comment I was unhappy about!!

I was at the Bike Rack, which recently closed. Our store in NE closed completely, but the store on NW 14th was sold to Conte's. Loved the team there. So many great memories, and I learned so much about commuter bikes, fenders, bike fit, and working with beginners! Only ever working with fast people gives you a pretty narrow perception of the bike world.

Great Podcast, thanks for sharing Charlie. He proves his point riding for Felt. I wonder if companies don't make growing chain stays solely for monetary reasons but nobody wants to admit it. I am such a bad rider that I enjoy my long chain stay on the Geometron G1 for all the reasons but I can also ride and enjoy my Yetis with their short chain stays that stay short even on L and XL :-( PS: the seat angles on SC are too flat, let's face it. :-)
