those proto Knolly bikes that were on display last year looked great. I was always a bit"meh" on the Knolly looks, but then I traded a buddy for a Knolly Fugitive, and I gotta tell ya. Its one of the best built bikes ive ever had the pleasure of working on. So many great details, and it rides great, I friggin love it. That colourway looks incredible

The Ride Companion Podcast recently caught up with Brendan Fairclough to chat about his 2023 plans and much more. In this excerpt, Brendog hilariously compares the differences between attending a Supercross and World Cup downhill race. Jokes aside, it's a comparison many people, myself included, make when we speculate why downhill racing isn't more popular or mainstream. But let's face it, downhill is a difficult spectator sport compared to a Supercross event held in a stadium. That's not to say downhill racing can't continue to grow, but Supeross vs. UCI DH probably isn't the most accurate comparison to continue making.

Specs are suspiciously similar to Redlines "like-water" oil, which coincidentally is what Fox also uses for the Transfer seatpost! Damper fade due to viscosity change isn't as big of a deal in MTB shocks, the actual temps they reach isn't that high. Bear in mind an aluminium bodied shock at 45 *C will feel RAGING hot to the hand! The change in pressure of the air spring is far more noticeable, and usually what riders are feeling instead of damping loss

Could be to encourage more people to race, or to show the potential for these smaller setups and to then increase the number of them that pop up around the nation. If people see that a National Championship can take place at a 700ft mountain, then we might start to see more bike parks pop up because Nats also means $$$ to the local community. Either way, this will be cool and hopefully start to give more opportunity for growth of the sport with a different spotlight.

Sad that our DH national championships are going to be held on a <700ft vertical track that isn't lift serviced and is a 2hr drive from a major airport. Nothing against Rock Creek, it's just sad state of affairs when none of the western ski resort/bike parks have interest or willingness to put on a national championship race. Blame is on USAC for not paying good venues to put on national champs.

Doesn't seem like Rock Creek has nearly enough infrastructure for a National unless they change some stuff. Soggy field to park in and a hike up the gravel road to get to the shop and shuttle pick up area. Probably a few hotels in Brevard 25 min away. Either way im excited and will check it out since its about an hour from me.
