PRESS RELEASE

Following the philosophy of "continuous improvement" with the imminent introduction of the NEW ARIA damper line and to further enhance the quality and consistency of our suspension, we have developed a new Suspension Fluid with unique Viscosity Index characteristics dubbed the Super-Thinner.

image-20230314144956-1

We call it the “Super-Thinner” due to its “water-like” consistency and 0.80 g/cc density while also maintaining a staggeringly high viscosity index and phenomenal viscosity ratio of 40°/100°T 2.3 VcSt – 5.4 VcSt. Based on technology initially developed for our off-road/rally WRC programs, the EV2S is arguably the most stable damper fluid ever manufactured! From laboratory testings, the new EV2S fluid has been shown to reduce damper fade by up to 30% compared to other premium oils under the same temperature and dynamic testing conditions. The new EV2S special formula incorporates a specialized additive to assure low expansion and compressibility. The “Super-Thinner” has excellent anti-foaming properties and an unrivaled low stick-slip effect to reduce friction and ensure smooth directional changes between internal components!

HIGHLIGHTS:
- Very high viscosity index, necessary to provide constant performance during competition use
- Excellent smoothness and lubricity
- Reduction of the stick-slip phenomenon, ensuring excellent performance even under sudden stress
- High resistance to chemical oxidation and thermal degradation
- Reduced foam formation and air entrainment
- Complete compatibility with rubber seals

TECHNICAL FEATURES
- Density 20 °C kg/l 0.805
- Viscosity cSt at 40 °C 5.4
- Viscosity cSt at 100 °C 2.3
- Viscosity index >400
- Flammability VA °C >90
- Pour point °C -60 °C
MSRP: $45 USD (1 liter)

I wanted the lightest damping possible, so I'm running straight argon gas in my damper. The super thinnest fluid I could find.

Specs are suspiciously similar to Redlines "like-water" oil, which coincidentally is what Fox also uses for the Transfer seatpost!

Damper fade due to viscosity change isn't as big of a deal in MTB shocks, the actual temps they reach isn't that high. Bear in mind an aluminium bodied shock at 45 *C will feel RAGING hot to the hand! The change in pressure of the air spring is far more noticeable, and usually what riders are feeling instead of damping loss

Redline LikeWater has better viscosity ratio and viscosity index, and is roughly half the cost at $14 for 16oz.

But it's not EXTREME.Woohoo

Vis @ 100°C, cSt2.34

Vis @ 40°C, cSt4.0

Viscosity Index 800

Pour Point, °C-50

Have you tried Redline in a fork?

Any difference in feel?

Ext could try making a coil shock that doesn’t sound like a brick in a washing machine. Forget the thin oil!

You should try some Hydrogen mate.
