Crazy that they dropped her and she changes bikes what looks like the day or two before the race and goes on to have her best results of the season by a long margin…

Syndicate IG said he was getting out of the hospital yesterday and had serious FOMO. Looks like he might be racing after all.

The Giga is the ultimate park bike, and I feel like with the linkage-driven single-pivot suspension design, it does a slightly better job of pumping, generating speed in corners and jumping. But I feel like the Horst link design of the Mega does a slightly better job tracking the ground in general, especially under heavy braking. Really though, for a lot of my day-to-day riding, the Mega is a little too much bike already. The Giga would just be even slightly more "too much" I was looking very heavily at the Reactor, but I really wanted a size Small, Mixed...

Thanks for bringing this up, I'm hoping we can have a productive discussion and it doesn't devolve into "doesn't bother me/get over it/other industries do it too" etc. I don't know how much control Vital has over what ads they show but I gotta think they have the ability to push back a bit even they they can't afford to flat-out refuse a full homepage campaign. Hopefully someone who knows will chime in w/ a bit more detail. Edit: Here's SQ Labs contact form: https://sqlab-usa.com/pages/contact-us

Hey Bizutch. We missed the question in your comment and just saw the Kooka references. We'd have to revisit what Kooka was doing back then, but it's likely a different material/alloy that caused the issues.

Hey Losifer, couldn't agree more. Was surprised to check Vital this morning and see a wall of female butts in panties facing me. Like you said, if this was an ad selling women's panties to a website with a predominantly female audience, then sure, fair play. But that's clearly not the case here. The last Vital audience survey in 2022...
First of all, I get that a lot of ad folks are probably not mountain bikers. They're using a toolbox based on things that they think has worked in the past, not necessarily what will work best in this community. Second, their job is to sell products. Building a community where new people feel welcome is probably not on their priority list. Third, as mountain bikers, we have collectively shown that stuff like the old Marzocchi posters and calendars (that were on the walls of service departments I managed) was not only acceptable but preferred. I'm saying all of this...

All good advice thus far. To piggyback, my experience with a Fox 38 was similar out of the box, and a lower leg service seemed to help quite a bit. Don’t be afraid to decrease the pressure in the spring and rely a bit more on LSC and HSC to control the feel of the spring rate.

I love this thread.. and I hate every e-bike review that does not mention the durability and reparability of an e-bike. Current Ebikes support makes me mad!! Ebike is considerably different than MTB. Traditional bikes can be repaired and maintained in an inexpensive way for almost a lifetime. I can still find cheap original parts on eBay for my 1990 mtbs, it's also for the most part compatible with a decent amount of modern components. E-bikes (the motor and battery) are made of components that are difficult or impossible to maintain, there is no public documentation, no third parties parts...

Is there an existing topic (how much reach is too much reach maybe?) covering this or should a new one be opened? Before this topic is offtopiced again. One thing to take note of though... Is anybody taking the backsweep of the bars into account? And to throw some gravel in the mix, when the XC rider crashing is shown, the 'cantilever' stem should prevent that to a greater extent than the zero offset stem as pushing on both sides of the bar with an equal force (being stopped by an obstacle) will want to straighten the bars. So much...

you're right, I guess 31.8 isn't as dead as my phrase made it sound. in my defense, pretty much every bike we review these days shows up with a 35mm cockpit, so sometimes that's what it feels like.

While they are 8 degree back sweep, the angle starts further from the bar center than any other bar I have tried. This gives them less setback for where your hands actually end up, take note when picking a stem length. Compared to OneUp bars cut to the same length, the WAO bars have a 8mm shorter offset from the bar center when measured at the grips. So if you were running OneUp bars and swapped to these keeping the same stem, it would be like running a 8mm longer stem.

As stated already, if the bushings have not been checked correctly, that could easily be the problem and source of "harshness". Some forks have a bushing fit that is so bad it takes quite a bit of effort to push the stanchions to bottom out with no air spring, no damper, seals removed, and lowers clean and dry. I have checked bushings on well over 100 forks; 75% of them are not perfect, and maybe 20% of them are really bad. Especially for a fork like the 38 where the chassis is very stiff, if the bushings fit is bad...

Per the usual, Robot is giving you the best advice here. I'm really doubtful a custom tune or any fork modification will help sort out your issues. When you say "fork isn't smooth", what are you comparing it to? Reason I ask is a 130mm 34 is never going to feel like a longer travel enduro fork. I often ride a 140mm 34 and find the performance to be brilliant but the fork can still feel harsh or lacking of sensitivity at times. With less travel you have to tune for control, not comfort. The only caveat here is there...

Exactly my thought. With marketing at least you get some percentage points of stiffness improvements to back up those claims.
