I wish the people in charge of setting up the cameras would spend a bit of time watching Vital Raw and vlogs from the likes of MoiMoi and Ed Masters, they could do with learning about good spots to film from IMO.

Very tight times in men's qualis. 11 riders missed the cut by less than 1 second, and 24 by less than 2 seconds. I still feel like I prefer more technically difficult tracks that separate riders more. Super fast tracks like this invite more risk taking, and at the same time leave no room for mistakes, as there is just nowhere to make up time.

Alright, since nobody asked, here is my best attempt at explaining the crap shoot that is Semi-Finals points. 1.) There are two points standing in discussion: UCI Individual Ranking and UCI Downhill World Series standings. Both of which have always been a thing. 2.) A rider's UCI Ranking is based on points acquired at any UCI event (e.g. World Championships), and ONLY qualifying (top 20) and finals (top 30) any of the 8 World Cups in 2023 (minus the final round, which doesn't pay points in qualifying). 3.) Races cost a lot of money and time to put on. In attention to what @bizutch said add the cost of paying a UCI official to come to the event (their fee plus lodging for four days) if you want UCI points, the cost of timing, and the cost of insurance. Often they must pay for paramedics on site also. All these things are costly and take a lot of time to arrange. I wonder how many racers have ever put on a race or volunteered to help? I used to help the MSC crew in exchange for entry fees...

French cup costs around 40 euro, and it's probably the best feeder series (with the US having made strides and being close as far as bringing up new talent) with large attendance every race. I am not saying it's easy to host a race, but 165 dollars for an entry fee feels absurd and counterproductive.

Fake news Blake I just pulled the clip of GM's flat in his race run and pulled his qualifying run helmet cam. GM DID had gloves on in both runs. At the finish of World Champs, gloves are off AFTER he finally makes his way to the bottom. Probably gave them to a rabid fan track side to pull his tire off.

I thought the Nicolai Nucleon 16 looked a bit "busy" with the idler and rear LAL derailleur, and maybe it's the angle/lighting, but this Slash with both pulleys, big chain slap guard, long rear fender, chunky seat tube, shock mount etc. brings me late 90's vibes too. It probably rides great, but with the swoopy tube junctions and straighter/angular rear end, the lines don't flow that well IMO and it looks a bit "unfinished" in the industrial design department. In front of a white background with studio lighting, it would probably look more finished. My 0.02$.

My buddy is a rep for Ride Concepts and he told me about a month ago that they were in talks to be acquired by a "big" company. He couldn't tell me which but that makes sense.

When talking about sram, not much (maybe none) of their stuff makes sense aftermarket at msrp. It makes sense to oem's because they get a much lower mark up on actual cost. Sram isn't alone in this of course, but their markups for end use customers vs bike companies seems a lot more mismatched than some companies. I mean the discount that ext or Cane Creek would give to an oem vs the regular price for us is probably not huge. Also oem's and bike shops really want air cause it's one part number, (one size fits all, i.e. infinitely...

I broke 2 pairs and the warranty guy said "last lot unless you lose weight" im 95kg, 6ft, fit and healthy. like what the f%$k. refunded as a scam through my CC buyer protection. They also Block and delete people who have broken them on instagram - few other instances of the warranty guy just abusing customers. I wouldnt trust those A-holes, ever.

Whatever bike fits you and your riding style the best. This is subjective and has a lot to do with biomechanics and the area you're riding in vs the area the bike was designed for. Demo lots of bikes, figure out what you want and buy a specific bike and then be a jerk about it on the forums. This is the way.

Ive been running this setup this year and its been awesome stumpy evo alloy with cascade link Older SDU air and new SDU coil with HBO switch out depending on the season change tires/headangle/shocks according to what I need, park season I keep the burlier setup on and deal with it during the week XC riding, winter time I keep it light and use it for everything.
