Just saw on the PB article that there’s no routing option for a cable drive train on the new stumpy. What the fuck is wrong with these people.

Shimano XTR brakes also use flathead pad screws. Just saying.

That might be the same thing that we were talking about on the Hayes/Mondraker bike some posts earlier. It allows the seals to reset with the pistons in the correct place. Almost the same thing as removing the rear wheel and pushing them a little out. Only easier and less tricky. Would love to hear how they feel now and...

Would y'all want to see a 15-minute VitalMTB video with back-to-back testing on a section of brutal rocky chunder with different pedal kickback theories to see if the Ochain really works as advertised?

Although I have never found the dead stroke to be as long as you describe it I would recommend pulling the rear wheel out and press the lever a couple of times to get the pistons closer to the rotor. The poor mans contact adjust. It's finicky and takes some patience but could fix your problem. I have done this...
I am on the 2.0 mm rotors at the moment. Can’t say they are any worse in heat management compared to the Monolithic rotors but they have way more power/bite. I want to try 2.3 mm again but with my bad experience with the monolithic rotors I’m gonna try the Intend massive or the new TRP rotors when the current...
In my experience the Monolithic rotors tend to loose bite and power after aggressive riding pretty fast. They started of great but all of a sudden they lost all power. I now have Galfer pro pads with Galfer wave rotors 223/203 and can't say I have tried more powerful brakes. Would recommend to get new rotors as it did wonders...

I’m currently riding a steel front end with aluminum rear off a Trek session. Great combination! Similar to that Vampire, different rear axle location/layout. Fun bike!

I've wanted these brake tests to be run in the opposite format as itll be more relevant to the user. ie , run the dyno at say 200Nm and see what lever force and distance is required to stall in say 2.5 seconds. This should tell a better story as lever geometry will be considered in the results. As an end user I'm more interested in how much hand force is required rather than comparing max figures. Does the lever swing 10 or 25mm? These factors contribute more to ride feel and use.

I’ve got a set of Formula Cura 4s that I just installed the EMRG Cura Lover Levers on a few weeks ago. I run Shimano XT 2 piece rotors and Swiss Stop Sintered pads. The Cura 4s with the stock levers and sintered pads are noticeably more powerful than SRAM Codes RSCs but lever feel was still on the heavy side. Adding those EMRG levers made them considerably more powerful and drastically improved lever feel and greatly reduced how hard you need to pull on the lever. Modulation was a bit tricky at first but once I got used to barely...

Very interesting article. However I wonder how reach adjustment on the lever would affect the results. I guess the rate by which it changes the leverage ratio at the lever is not consistent across brakes (if indeed reach does affect it, I am not sure). I would have also liked to see also the result of just how much force can be applied at the rotor surface at nth increments of lever pull. I guess this could be calculated just based on the geometry of the components, but maybe materials and construction could play a role. This would have also...

Huh ? Fox forks are actually pretty exemplary as far as backwards compatibility of dampers go. I have a what is now a 3 generations old RC2 damper in a '23 36 chassis for example.
