I love my 3 sets of Berd spoked wheels and highly recommend them for many applications. That said, for my big hitting bike I choose to go with standard steel spokes for the rear. Berd spokes tend to feel a fair bit looser at times and also seem to get a bit sacked out with use. And I'm no Pro. Wouldn't have anything but Berds on my Trail/ XC bikes, but for a DH bike, I'd choose otherwise. If I had to build a new AM/ Enduro wheel set not certain what I'd do. Probably Berds though.

Not the big reveal from Specialized marketing I was expecting.

Looks like a prototype Mirror saddle as well. That shape doesn't look like either the Power or Romin Evo shapes they currently sell with the 3D printed Mirror construction.

last i heard they were fulfilling any pending orders they could with available stock (for buyers that still wanted to), and that would be it. bummer for sure.

They did close. I would not be surprised if they are sold off to another company. But they did sell out of all their stock or a majority of it. Sad times.

I think it was an excited tech editor that saw the 'spy shots' and decided to name the tire the High Roller 3. Don't think that's the name of it or the evolution line. It's so different it would be a marketing mistake for Maxxis to use the "High Roller' legacy name.

Not a tech rumor, but I would say that inserts are pretty key with the conti's. I find they feel a bit pingy at higher pressures, and at lower pressures (sub 28psi out back) they seem to fold a lot even with inserts. Also just gonna say that I think tire companies should test tires in Quebec/eastern US.

Curious to know what inserts you were running as I have had the completely opposite experience, with cushcore helping to keep my tires ON the rim. the round noodle style inserts do seem to allow the tire to roll off the rim, while the cushcore almost clamps it on.
