Loving this thread and all the one off and more serious encounters some people have had. - I used to work for Pivot's Canadian distributor and spent the better part of the (circa) 2014 Montreal Bicycle Show chatting it up with Chris Cocalis. Went for supper and drinks in Old Montreal with him and dropped him off at the airport on the last day. - Got a chance to spend part of the 2014 MSA WC in the makeshift Pivot Factory DH team pit (it was 2 10x10s owned by the distributor lol) and met Bernard Kerr, Elliot Jackson and...

In the late 90's i knocked over Nathan Rennie's Avanti DH (the one with the big moto style seat) at the top of the state champs at Fernvale. Same year Kovarik was on the carbon GT lobo

That is great news! I know they have been teasing the V3 coming soon. I'm definitely going to shoot them an email and see if we can work something out! I love the approach they have with their bikes focusing on durability and simplicity. Also, they have usable stack heights for tall riders.

I made that fender. It is made and mounted in similar fashion to the THE fenders. However it uses a Honda crf 50 fender. The old THE fenders are styled more similar to a Honda xr 50. I’ve made a few so far and they’ve all done great.

I've got all of Decline aside from two of the first ten issues including the issue with the review of those timing watches that included Aaron Gwin where they said Keep an eye out for this guy.

I skipped class senior year to drive to CA with Dak to help him build a line for his welcome to Devinci edit. As a kid from MI that was super into DH, going out west and meeting a bunch of US pros and riding all these spots I'd seen online blew my mind. Even ran into AG and JH at a shuttle spot. It was before him and Dak really knew each other much and they just kinda said hey. Lots of funny stories from that trip. Shout out to Dak for always being rad, that trip really inspired...

You are totally right! I owe a ton to Donny and the Southridge crew for everything they've done over the years, both for my racing career and the racing scene in SoCal. I've always been shocked at the names that have come out of Fontana, considering the terrain. But that does go to show how having solid competition raises the bar for everyone.

MTB forums/comments: Reviewers are industry schills, they never write anything bad about any products. Everyone knows that sucks/is unrideable/will fail and won't get warranty support. Also MTB forums/comments: This reviewer wrote something critical about a product I happen to like, they must be biased against that company. Total hatchet job man!
