Agree- not sure why they don't make a few more options. I wish they made an Aggressor with DH casing for a faster rolling tire. Specialized Eliminator Grid Gravity T7/T9 is another good option for a heavy duty but still pedalable rear tire.

Is this the second DH casing dual compound modern Maxxis ever? A few years ago only the DHF came in DH casing and dual compound... A severe lack of DH casing and DD casing dual compound tyres is completely baffling to me as they would make a great option for hard charging (heavy) riders that like to still pedal a lot. A 3C tyre in the rear usually gets chewed up mighty fast (DHR2s though surprisingly last quite a while even in 3C guise in the rear...).

all - cut the petty ebike/non-ebike bullshit in here. battle all you want in a diff thread. if it's not a legit discussion about the bikes or the tech, beat it to somewhere else.

That's a "bike park" spec Maxxis rolled out this summer. Longer wearing compound and a wire bead help bring the price down a bit. Mostly aimed at rental fleets or park rats trying to save a bit of cash. DHR is available now but Assegai and DHF are on the way.

So many rear rims and tires destroyed on these trails. All in the name of MTB science.

From Montesano State park all the way down to Oak Park is around 1600 feet give or take. On this video they didn't show Cold Springs trail. They also skipped Dallas Branch trail to add more length to the final run. He also skipped natural rock features that locals love to hit, probably in the name of racing and maybe saving his rims/tires. One of the racers that goes to all these events (including Go Nuts Racing series), claims these are the roughest trails of all the SOUTHEAST racing series. The best part is these trails can improve but they...

Hello from Mr. Offtopic. DOT 5 is dead in the water, apparently ABS systems could cause aeration and thus made it unusable in cars (as per wiki). That's why DOT 5.1 was made as it has the temperature ratings of DOT5 while still being ethylene-glycol based. The video is still up, brake fluid part starts at 3:25: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oF2vAOmplUI As for why DOT, as has been mentioned, DOT 5.1 is DOT 5.1. The DOT in the name stands for Department Of Transportation, meaning it's tightly regulated. That's why DOT fluids from different manufacturers can be mixed and matched. So you can...

Scott E-ransom, Norco Sight, Range and Fluid VLT's all have 460+ CS's. I've had emtb's with 440 & now 462mm CS's, I'll pick the longer one every time!

Hey, a non-mountain bike company makes an ebike that actually makes sense! Decent geo, decent build, is about average-ugly for an emtb. Also that photo of the car jump is the Bobsled trail in SLC

not good, not bad. Better than a RAD or an Aventon and the like, which is good, the bike industry should not be enabling and encouraging people to buy from brands like those. The shop I work with has been toying with the idea of not servicing bikes like those, but at the same time we don't want to alienate that entire customer base(our clientele is primarily old retired people, and they fall for the adverts every time).
