considering the high number of 160/170mm travel bikes I see on these same local trails, it seems very fair to test it in this environment. what if it shined there too? some bikes do.

given that GG is just trying to keep up with demand for their own frames, i suspect it will be some time, even with the new factory.

I'm curious how long it will take for another company to start having their frames built there. For example, with their manufacturing techniques will they be able to build the aesthetics some brands are know for (Ibis, etc.)? Does anyone think other brand egos may get in the way from jumping in or is it just about that bottom line for cheap labor in Asia?

Actually, just such a thing exists and you can customize it all you want. It's our Product Guide.

Hit that link and see a sample. I took the liberty of selecting Yeti, Evil, and Rocky Mountain brands. Narrowed it to carbon frames with 29-inch wheels and 120-149mm of...more

Being nice to the employees at yourfriendlylocal bike shops! They can't speed up overseas raw materials production, adjust the value of national currencies or prevent cargo ships from sinking, so, even though it's a bummer the bike service queue is 3 weeks long or your new bike won't be in for a...more

I have to admit that I ride some of those trails frequently and I almost didn’t recognize them because of the lines those guys were taking. I need to step it up!

The fact we're to the point that "Budget" brakes are too powerful is pretty neat.

Thanks for your insight! I followed the recommendations on the chart as well and rear sag is set to 30% (picked that tip up from the scout review you guys did). I am going to try the HSC wide open and see how that treats me. Santa is bringing me the Debonair C1 upgrade so I will get to play around even more with the settings on the Lyrik.

Hey Tom, if your bike feels good, I bet your settings are "correct"! Part of what I love about the Scout is the versatility and how it can behave like so many different kinds of bikes.

Thank you for reviews like this! I am constantly spreading the gospel of mountain biking and articles like this help me get more people into biking at a much lower price point.

Brad, I'm really interested in your fork & shock settings on your Scout. I "think" I have my Scout setup well but I'd love to know if I am within the ball park of your settings. Thank you, Tom
