The following Pics show the tests I made hitting the Curb with the Link shock in the open mode and the closed mode. The first Pic shows the suspension Travel traces with the Link shock in the open mode...same as the Earlier Trace Pic....but it just shows the impact of the front wheel into the Curb...at 20kph and it shows both suspensions reacting and moving...the labels show Peak travel for each. The next Pic shows the bike being ridden into the same Curb at 20kph....but with the Link shock in the closed mode....so its barely moving when the wheel hits...

Edit: Oh! And that's what this is... they just pulled it from the podcast and made it a separate video. I will also say that the B-Practice podcast after... maybe Snowshoe?? (might have been after US Open) has a great hour or so to start it off that would be fantastic for any aspiring racer or parent of an aspiring racer to listen to from Dak and the crew.

This kinda ties in with Gwin acquiring the rock. Im honestly surprised how well the youth are doing in this country despite how little of a national development program we have. I know its hard as our country is massive and getting jr. to a race clear on the other side of the country isnt feasible for most people. But it really shows what youth development does. Look at the current crop of fast french dudes that all came up through Vouilloz and co's direction.

Great stuff (as always) you guys are big time builders in USDH! Got my 14yo on a DH bike and he is loving it. Bike nerd Question(you say you read all the comments). I have AXS wireless on his (and my) enduro bikes because they are tough and take a hit. Why is there no axs or T-type on DH bikes, even in pro pits? I would think , especially the transmission tucked up and out of the way would be good? Is it just not tough enough for DH or is the short cage the barrier? I would think...

I've ridden Santa Cruz trails with Matt Hunter, followed by burnouts and donuts in his rental car. I threw up a little trying to stay on Ned Overends wheel on a climb. I rode a pump track with a 14yo Troy Brosnan. I damn near made Curtis Keen The American Dream throw up staying on my wheel up a climb, and was then smoked by him on the descent. I unfortunately saw Christoph Sausers junk when he dropped trow in the middle of the room. I hung out with Sam Hill and Jacy when they were in the states being...

I love shredits. "More than 15 years ago, I heard on a radio program a comment about a documentary series featuring sexual scenes. The program's narrator emphasized the presence of a touch of realism, as it showed details like pubic hair, sounds, and even narrations about the risks of these acts… Surely, dear reader, you have heard the widely spread message that pornographic content is far from reflecting reality, and using it as a reference risks distorting your expectations and experiences. Your perception of reality can be affected in countless ways. Therefore, to enjoy this type of content, you should...

What a cool thread to read! Rode with a few of the Aptos kids too back in the day. Got to ride Cob's backyard jumps with Brandon Semenuk one time. They had just build this massive hip at the bottom and Brandon Guinea pigged it. I didn't think that jump was possible. John Cowan yelled at me during Crankworx in Whistler one year because I was standing too close to the 4x track. I was like 14 and looked up to him from his NWD parts so that stuck with me for a while. Years later he came to ride...

I'll play! I've ridden with ALL of the old school Aptos crew out at the Freedom 40, including Brandon Semenuk on one of his winter visits. And had a hand in building many of the trails that he rode in videos there. I built a titanium GT road bike for Juliana Furtado. I rode with Brian Lopez and Kirt Vories at sheep hills while they were filming Revolution. Oh and with Kirt at the Freedom 40. I have an autographed postcard from Greg Minaar from his first trip to race in the US on the Global team. I had a...

So much fun reading everyone's responses. I've been fortunate to cross paths with many of my MTB 'heroes,' and it always cracks me up to think how what are core memories for me are likely lost memories for the other person. I'm always desperate for MTB clout, so here are some of my fav memories: - 2012, hiking to the start in Port Angeles, I was next to Mick Hannah, and he looked at me and said, "You're the kid who came from moto racing, yeah?" He was thinking of Charlie Harrison since we were on the same team at...

Some more fodder - I recently crossed paths professionally with an industry veteran who has done composite design and analysis for a bunch of bike companies (he still does it now), most of which you have definitely heard of. He and I nerded out about frame/layup tuning for a little while one day and what he communicated to me was that most of that tuning happens on road bikes. Frame loading is (insert my opinion now) better defined on the road side of things than it is on the MTB side of things, so engineering localized compliance into road frames...

Riding with @Primoz in Slovenia was awesome. Northwestern Slovenia is beautiful, he was a great tour host, great trails, great people, great food, lots of nerding out about bikes, and Primoz and his friends are very strong riders. They put the hurt on me on the 8 km or so road climb to the top of the trail, twice. My...
