Luke Strobel and Bryn Atkinson told me my chain guide wasn’t clocked right in the lift line of the Mt. Hood Fluidride Cup in 2009.

I built Christian Wright’s 2011 Champery World Champs race bike, where he proceeded to be the fastest junior American male, in 38th place.

Shaun Palmer stopped by the shop I worked at on his way down to Sea Otter and I installed a bottom bracket into his girlfriend’s Intense XC frame. He paid me with a copy of his autobiography DVD, I was psyched.

I'm on Spomer's Christmas card list (and this year we're DEFINITELY making and sending out cards....)

Lopes yelled at my son and his friend to "put their helmets on" during a transfer at an enduro once. 

Steve Peat came to the dirt jumps I built as a teenager. Then they got bulldozed. 

This year I've chatted briefly to the Commencal Muc-Off chef and Thibaut Daprela, and bought a t-shirt from Mama Ruffin. I'm basically one of the team now.

Last year, on a bike trip to Vermont, while paused at the top of two trails and deciding animatedly amongst us which of the two to ride down, Phil Kmetz popped out from behind a tree like some kinda goddamn gnome and recommended the Blue over the Black, if were to only hit this area once, which we were, and then pointed us to another trail system in the area which ended up being an absolute gem and the highlight of our trip.

Later, when we got back to my truck at the end of the ride, a crisp sheet of "Skills with Phil" mustache stickers was tucked under my windshield wiper.

I washed my bike in the river in Morzine under the lieft and Benoit Coulanges did the same on the other bank.  I asked him if he wanted a crushed water bottle I used to move the dirt out of crevices and sadly he politely declined.

Rachel Atherton made me a burger after the last Windham WC. My drunk buddy tried to get Ratboy to give him a black eye. He laughed and declined. This was right after the alleged Gee incident.

I once met Fabian Barel getting out of a unmarked white van at the top of a long road climb during Whistler Crankworx 2013, I asked for a photo but he said 'you never saw me'. He didn't seem very friendly 

this is a fun game... I'll play.

-I used to do miata track stuff with @Dave_Camp when he lived in socal many moons ago... he's fast in a racecar too btw

-I got (basically) run over by Leigh Donovan while I was climbing San Juan Trail on a weekday... It was a blind corner and she's fast af.  It was fun getting run down by someone you think is rad.  

-Once, on a red-eye I was inline to use the bathroom, and Joel McHale was in front of me in line. We had a quick conversation and then it was his turn to use the bathroom.  He absolutely blew that thing up, and as he exited and held the door so I could enter, he mouthed "I'm sorry".  It was funny, until I smelled it... his shit does in fact stink btw.  

-I ran into Yoann Barelli on vacation while trail riding in squamish.  He was coaching some young shredder.  Upon seeing him, I decided to yolo send a feature and did a little nose manual down a steep... never done anything like that before in my life and no idea where it came from.  He screamed "Yeah Buddy!" as I did it and gave me a high five as I rode up to him.  I promptly informed him my wife is going to be so pissed when she hears about this because she always talks about being the "meat in a Yoann and Remi sandwich."  I realized how awkward that was immediately as I was saying it... fortunately he found it hilarious.  

As a junior I used to race Sam Hill & Nathan Rennie, could you imagine how badly I got beaten lol. Rennie would often turn up hammered from the night before and still wax everyone.

Riding with @Primoz in Slovenia was awesome. Northwestern Slovenia is beautiful, he was a great tour host, great trails, great people, great food, lots of nerding out about bikes, and Primoz and his friends are very strong riders. They put the hurt on me on the 8 km or so road climb to the top of the trail, twice. My feelings are still sore from that ride.
