In honor of the 1000th page, we should vote on the best meme of 2025: ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป for โ€œCrabโ€ ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป for โ€œ6-7โ€ edit: Carcinization is the antithesis of innovation. Maybe we should keep crab talk on the crab talk forum and keep this thread focused on MTB tech rumors and/or innovation.

Here's how roller wear manifests as elongation. Though it's perhaps inaccurate this elongation is colloquially referred to as 'stretch'.

As a trail builder who likes clean forests, f*** course tape, that plastic ribbon has a way of sticking around forever. I'm talking in generalities here, not necessarily WCDH, but I'd like to see tape completely go away (same with tear-offs). Poles are a better solution, just need to use a wee bit of common sense. Stripe them if they're a caution/jump marker vs course marker. Works for color blind riders and can be done with a handy roll of gaff tape instead of having a separate inventory of markers. Just put 3 black stripes on markers that won't DQ...

Sure, we're open for business. But WATER is a precious resource and Green River (5 minutes from the park) has been wiped off the map. Hotels, motels, churches, youth centers, parking lots, fields, backyards...loaded down with every manner of out of town utility worker imaginable. Our hotels are hosting displaced families, day laborers, you name it. But we ARE NOT a travel destination in the slightest. Sinkhole opened up last night down the road from me that will swallow an RV. We have IDIOTS by the thousands wandering around using their GPS or just generally shoving their STUPID faces where...

The bike industry is full of things that scream poor design and manufacturing. It's far from a SRAM specific problem.

The fact SRAM state you have to complete these extra steps just to achieve a brake that works for their top of the line product (which no other manufacturer does) just screams poor design and manufacturing.

The focus of this being the way they wrote the number 4 which is still a bit different and not focused on the caliper itself which is completely different is kind of funny. When are we gonna start talking about what color crayons taste best cause i feel like we are getting pretty close?

Because unlike road cycling, historical there's no rider movement in MTB during the "transfer window". New teams are not finalised until January 15th each year. Therefore most riders contracts (along with marketing commitments) run until Dec 31st or even first week of Jan. So there's your answer

Agreed. It's always better to have a bike that's too small vs. too big. Too small is an occasional nuisance, too big is a constant confidence killer.
