2/5/2024 6:45am Regarding suspension, except Leitner, you also have to think about Jim Busby of GT, as the RTS was probably the first mass produced full suspension bike that actually worked. Then came the LTS, which was popular for good reason, and the i-Drive, that was maybe the first effort to properly isolate suspension movement from the transmission, as early as 1999. GT have videos regarding this on their YouTube channel. Robert Reisinger of Mountain Cycle made the San Andreas, which was way ahead of its time, and of course you have Jeff Steber of Intense, who created the M1. Mert Lawwill's...

Jeremy_Keyes Liked a reply to forum topic If You Could Change One Current MTB Standard...
2/1/2024 5:54am Who cares about things like 203 rotors or handlebar diameter? It's pretty easy and cheap to change that to what you prefer. Trunnion mount shocks are the standard that needs to go and long shock extenders. They are terrible for shocks. If people really cared enough our money can make anything we want happen. But in stead we just keep buying and complaining. I work on my own bike and care about certain aspects so i purchase accordingly. I won't buy a frame with a trunnion mount shock, long shock extender, DW link or superboost. I will only buy a...

1/31/2024 7:26am I don't understand the mentality of complaining about what standard a manufacturer uses. With the massive number of bike manufacturers out there you have more choices than ever. Just pick the features that you want and quit complaining. https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/hub/125-mtb-companies-too-many-heres-li…

1/29/2024 6:23am This was thoroughly hashed out in the tech rumors. We blocked one person. The person that started this thread. Calling it a review would be a stretch. Calling it defamatory, not so much. Edit, seeing as you made an account today just to post one thing I’m going to assume you are that exact same person.

1/25/2024 6:43am Exactly, and I would wager the bike Steve is on in that picture is smaller in reach and wheelbase than a modern size small Nomad. According to my googling, the 2024 small Nomad has a 1209mm wheelbase vs. an 1184mm wheelbase on the 2007 V10. I don't know the reach length of the old bike because that wasn't a measurement anyone posted back then, but my 2014 XL V10 had a reach of 447mm so I'm sure the large 2007 was considerably shorter than that. And like the last commenter said, Steve annihilated on that bike and nearly won the...

1/24/2024 6:22am The admittedly unclear implication was that “we” derailed the thread and I neither endorsed unsanctioned trails nor demonized them. I just gave us a new place to argue about it. I am keenly aware of and sensitive to the potential for unsanctioned trails to impact legal access. I more took issue with the term eco-crimes and the idea that these trails cause any more meaningful damage than legal trails which seemed a bit extreme in the grand scheme of the late capitalist human shitshow. I will say that the original sin of American MTB occurred in a place where to...

1/24/2024 6:22am Did the Fugazi get your 90s scene kid self-righteousness going? I mean the irony of auto makers being upset with “crimes against the eco-structure” is a bit much. Pretty fine line between the environmental crimes of unsanctioned trail building and the use of large earth movers to build legal trail. Also derailing the team rumors thread? Again?? Must be the end of silly season. Maybe you can take the trail crimes debate to Trinidad, Colorado. https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/hub/trinidad-colorado
