Next to “squirrel catcher” the Trinidad, CO reference is my favorite MTB “inside baseball”  phrase and now it can live forever as a space to herald, debate or otherwise moan about “unsanctioned” trails. Post your pics or hop up on the soap box just don’t derail the team rumors thread.

PS Ironically Trinidad has recently become a gravel bike destination (whatever that means), has 2 bike shops and it sounds like they are actually building decent mountain bike trails.
PPS I would love to hear the origin story of the reference.

I’d be pretty surprised if it didn’t date back to the Littermag days. It would be even better if it was a Decline thing.

i think it was kicked it off in a littermag "online supplement" which is what i did before going to decline. was used for a photo or two taken in the "greater colorado area." driving to angel fire via i-25, Trinidad is the last stop before the border and Raton, NM, so figured if trinidad was used, front range downhillers at the time may find it plausible. it seemed fitting to resurrect the name for the fairclough POV (holy crap, 10 years ago). not sure if we ever referenced it at decline, but we could have if a colorado pic snuck in the pages. good times for sure.
