Was so refreshing to have Tahnee in the booth. Actual insightful things to say. Could see where riders were winning and loosing time and dissected the track. We can all be glad Rob is as iconic and interesting as he is. But neither Claudio, Elliot, Tracey, nor anyone at discovery commentary did a simply effective job like Tahnee did. 🤝

I was doing a long drive a few weeks back and listened to Nigel Paige’s podcast with Brent Foes. Brent eluded to the fact that, in his opinion, the current crop of DH bikes could be better and he has a slew of ideas based from his Motorsport experience that he wants to try. They never blatantly admit it, but it sounds Nigel might have a hand in a start up team that will ride proto Foes bikes in the big leagues.

Best thing this weekend was some little groms on 20 inch bikes. One clipped a tree on the chute in frog pond. Immediately got up and did a running mount to ride off the rock roll into the compression without feet on the pedals. Veered right into the big rock and got thrown out the front door like jazzy Jeff. Got up fixed his brake lever and finished his run. Saw him doing laps after the race. These kids also just sent gnarly sections first run while teenagers watched on completely perplexed. This is not natural. Interested in what this 'structure' is classified as on this property. Sure, it gets 'tested' for clickbait only to have the event come through and suddenly this widow-maker has sponsor banners on it, making it some form of 'display'. There's no way something like that could possibly be inspected and deemed safe. But not like it matters since this is the exact type of bullcrap that ruins bicycling for everyone, and I do turn away from trainwrecks by default.
