Ha, you already know we looked at everything! Avinox is doing some wild stuff and honestly respect what they have pulled off here. But for the Tazer, it wasn't the right fit. Power to range is a real tradeoff with that system, and beyond that, big torque and wattage numbers don't always automatically equal a great ride. I disagree. I don't think after months and months of testing we would have uncovered more about the bikes that would offset the extra time/cost we'd have put in. To be clear, this was not a scientific test. Also, I'm not sure what kinda budget you think we got over here but it does not include months of testing in a bike park. The goal was to put down a timed run on a familiar track after we had each bike setup and feeling comfortable to see how times compared against how we felt on the bikes. And to help...

Yup, we did mock race runs, so one run per bike. Fatcrobat to Too Mushroom was one of our main test trails during the week that we also filmed on for 5 days, so it was the easiest to ride consistently quick.

Another pro with a DHRII up front. I guess I need to finally give that a try. Also I forget how sick but exhausting that track looks. Conditions looked epic this year.

Any1 else thinks a lot of credit for Gates push into MTB should go to the Chris Sugai as he is now employed there and knows the mtb world pretty well (he was also talking in one of the videos)?

teams can register by the 15th and announce whenever they want. in the past many teams have been announced by the UCI before the team releases the line up themselves.

pretty sure thats the future of DH, sic rig! The only issue is the cost that I see, but that will get sorted as the platform gets more adopted. I am sick of replacing over priced cassettes (even a 7 speed DH cassette is priced like jewelry , replacing chains when they are .0000001 out of spec and cleaning my chain every ride. I am over geared drivetrains. The weight centered around the bottom less unsprung weight at the wheel..the benefits are endless for the belt and gear box.
