What is your take on the maneuverability of that bike? We've seen comments here on the forums that a slim highly placed battery makes it harder to steer.

If you want to try them, here is a code you can use for 40% off. Others on the forum feel free to use it as well. "LETSGOMARTIN". Made that code for friends as Martin Maes has been running our Heavyweight insert this season and had them in for his 2x top 10 WC DH finishes. Pretty pumped on that. I'll let others speak on their experience. We're on our 5th iteration and that's what is currently shipping. We've solved some little issues we were having with earlier versions. The bungee was ripping thru the plastic with time and we...

I could've been more clear haha: I've already started shipping them. From here on, all rim savers that ship are V2. I just put a note in the box with the updated instructions so people don't get too confused. It's a better product so I didn't want to wait. I almost forgot: I have a new impact anvil head thats intended to test pinch flats. I've had it in my cart to order for months and finally was able to pull the trigger the other week. When it arrives I'll make time to get around to doing some real pinch...

we tested the reaper powerplay 24. it was a hoot for my boys, but didn't quite hold up under grom huckage for very long. it also made them pretty salty at having to pedal a regular bike for a few months after lol https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/e-bikes/rocky-mountain/reaper-po…

Indeed, but I’m not working for Shimano, and I’ve installed 2.3mm rotors on plenty of Shimano, maguras and other “incompatible” brakes to know that they work with no problems

I have not tried them but the Rim Saver appears to be the best. I would love to try them. They just make sense. I'm currently running the XC Cushcore in the downhill bike solely for rim protection. I will probably switch to rim saver eventually. Plus they have a great story and are made in Vermont.

Rim Saver for sure. If you don't want the squish of a foam insert (like many do not), but still want to protect your rim, Rim Saver is by far your best option. Plus Ryan lurks around these parts, super good engineer, really nice guy.

It's been mentioned in the Bikenomics thread before that Specialized is getting out of clothing and now in the tech rumors thread that Specialized 2FO shoes are out of stock everywhere. Anyone have any viable alternatives that are as stiff, have the parallelogram cleat box, etc? Bonus points if they're like the 2FOs with regular version that's light (but still decently stiff) and a DH version with extra toe box and stiffness. It's been really nice having the exact same shoe but with slight differences for the 2 different genres. I realize any good options will probably be above the...

I think you and I have already had this exact same conversation, but okay let's review my points again: 1. Lab tests ≠ absolute truth. Not all tests are created equal. People in these forums have repeatedly made the claim that radial tires roll slower than bias ply tires, but the tests they've shared to back up these claims ( example from Schwalbe's lab here) were performed on steel drums in a laboratory. Steel drums have been resoundingly proven to not be a reliable proxy for even smooth asphalt, let alone rough asphalt, gravel, or real world trail conditions. If...

*I think what you meant to say was "I want the durability without the weight. Also, some people have anecdotally claimed additional rolling resistance with radials, but there isn't sufficient evidence at this time to make an educated conclusion on that topic."

What a bummer. We'll see what happens when Vail Resorts inevitably goes bankrupt and/or has to start offloading properties in the next 2-3 years.

Fox has E-Optimized and E-Tuned forks, the later sounding like what you have. E-Tuned is just a damper tune. E-Optimized incorporates structural changes to the crown and lowers, along with an E-Tuned damper. You can run regular Fox forks on an e-bike and they work great (what I do).

Three gears in the front and seven in the back could be the perfect ratio for mountain biking! It's almost like it would give you three different gear "ranges" using the front shifter- one for climbing, one for descending, and one for everything in between. And the chain alignment could be so much straighter without having to pack all your gears onto one super wide cassette. I wonder why no one's thought of that yet? I can't think of any downsides.
