I had a click while pedaling on my enduro bike that was driving me nuts. Standing up it still happened. I tried: cleaning chain, replacing chainring and cassette, servicing the Ochain, servicing my Chris King BB, checking links with shock off, and it still would happen. Then I swapped pedals between my bikes (identical Race Face Turbines, less than a year old)... clicking went away on the enduro bike. And the pedals that came off it do not click on the other bike. WTAF. how is that possible? Not complaining that it's fixed, but... how? My only guess is that...

Did a new one yesterday - installing a dropper in my new build, went to trim the housing but forgot to pull the cable out. Now the housing is perfect but the cable is too short so I'm just going with a rigid post. Before that, I managed to defeat the downtube-to-seat tube corner after a long frustrating battle when getting my housing internally routed, just to realize I put it in through the wrong head tube hole

Maybe hit with a heat gun before you try to remove it? If you have money you're trying to figure out how to get rid of, I think Silca makes a "sealant cleaner" spray.

Honestly the Silca sealant remover is pretty amazing stuff.

I think the thing you are overlooking here is that motor/battery tech will continue to evolve which will keep the sales units moving, especially with enthusiasts. That coupled with the shorter life cycle of drive units and batteries and high cost to replace will make selling the old rig and buying a freshie feel like the smart move. Not excited about that part personally, feels like we're matching up to other consumer electronics with short replacement intervals.

I think you're spot on with there being a more latent market for regular bikes than is apparent. Improvements to regular bikes have largely stagnated. There's not a lot of reason for most people to sell their 2022 bike and buy a new one. Unsurprisingly, sales of regular bikes are underwhelming. That doesn't mean the population of riders who wants those bikes is collapsing though; it just means they already own what they want. Ebikes are the hot new thing. Everyone's buying one. Some people enjoy them, some people buy them, try them, and decide it's not for them. But...

They tried to, but the little Argo people were unresponsive and CSU had to pull the plug. It was really unfortunate since I think all of us were excited for it. Hopefully they can get it organized for next year, same with the University of Utah getting things going with Solitude. The resorts through Colorado are pretty tough to work with, the only two that are very consistent and more or less like having us are ironically Powderhorn, and Crested Butte. There are still plenty of purists who just don't want to ride an ebike, but still want an enduro bike. BUT, most 2020 enduro bikes ride just as good as a new one, AND, like mentioned before, a modular park/enduro bike makes more sense. RIP enduro.

I have never loved a bike more than my Madonna. I ride it everywhere and can't imagine much being better, BUT... I think my ideal three bike lineup would be a longer travel ebike (ONLY because I live in the Canadian Rockies and our climb trails are like, 10% grade), a single speed DH/park bike and a short travel down-country. And a gravel bike. And a DJ... Lol

The future of long travel enduro bikes is being modular and compatible with dual crown forks to double as park/DH bikes. It makes a ton of sense from a company and manufacturing perspective
