Danny seems genuinely so excited about the bike. He is seriously frothing, and hopefully that leads to serious speed.

Different sport, but also more knee reliant. Johnny Collinson, professional free skier blew everything in his knee (ACL, MCL, PCL, LCL, fractured tibial plateau, and even patellar tendon I believe) and has made a full comeback. It took ~2 years and he is a fitness freak. There have been NFL running backs who have been back on the field in 9 months post ACL. I think a return by the end of the season would be feasible if the rider really wanted it. That said, like others have stated here. I’d take my time and focus on next season.

Maybe get Kathy Sessler and Rennie back on track too? Or hear me out… kirt voreis doesn’t have a frame sponsor right now and has some similar sponsors to the team… maybe have him in for sea otter and vet worlds??

In short, no - shock & fork tuning can't make up for kinematics, not even close. They are all doing very different things but the shock tune does highly depend on the frame kinematic so if those don't work well you will be very limited in how much performance you can achieve. Things like anti-squat are a measure of the vehicles response to acceleration - so an "ideal" AS would mean the bike doesn't move under acceleration so you wouldn't need to do anything else to combat it. If you were trying to add damping instead it would compromise other...

In my opinion shock tunes can’t fix bad kinematics. But a bad shock tune can ruin good kinematics. I need to start with a good frame that has good kinematics, then chassis flex, then suspension tune, then parts like bars and wheels.

Part of the reason I have 0 trust in our legal system for this topic is the man who single handedly killed the #metoo movement: Joe Biden. Regarding your horse dewormer comment, I'm curious, where do you get your news and information from? Ivermectin was developed for use with humans, it has been dosed on humans billions of times, it has an incredible safety profile, its on the UN list of essential medicines (again, for people), and the inventor received the Noble Prize. Joe Rogan was prescribed Ivermectin from his doctor, and purchased it from a Pharmacy (not a veterinary...

This is great info, because you've answered my next question which was "where do you usually find people after you've worked with them" If I ever find myself in NZ I owe you a beer!

The certain editors settings look a lot like the "before" settings of clients I get on my set up days but complain of sore hands and wallowing/diving. After a few runs (assuming a 170mm fork) They end up a lot closer to the recommended Fox settings and feeling better all round. eg 80kg rider + 170mm fork would probably be around 90psi, 0 spacers, lsc-10, hsc-5 lsr-7/9, hsr-4/5 as a rough ballpark off the top of my head. More aggressive riders will have more spacers (could be 2-3) and/or a couple extra psi. If you're over 60kg and need to...

So I few observations- "packing" is just as much a low speed rebound thing as high speed. Maybe more as the bike just naturally ratchets itself down and sits at a deeper, stiffer part of the stroke. Not just in repeated big bumps. It can also be just as much a case of the spring or compression damping being too soft. You maybe don't need the wheel to "recover" so much as not end up so deep in the first place. HSR adjustments are Ok in theory - they don't always work quite right in practise but it does make...

EVERYONE fucked this up, not just Trek. Not quite everyone. I know they took flack for it at the time, but it seems to me Shimano was one of the few companies to see the writing on the wall. https://cyclingindustry.news/a-year-in-review-how-shimano-has-navigated…

If it is so smart, why did they wait until they'd missed sales forecasts for 15 months and were downsizing by 10%? Having dealt with and worked for Trek.......there's not a lot of 'smart' going on there.

Don't most bike manufacturers do the same? I'm pretty sure most models see multiple years between redesigns. That's also sorta irrelevant when discussing how many SKUS are offered for sale at any given time.
