6/17/2025 9:53am We tested Crankbrothers new Synthesis Enduro Alloy 2.0 wheels that launched today and were super impressed by how stout and durable they were. Our tester Mikey has broken every wheel I've ever seen him ride, and these wheels have made it just about 4 months completely unscathed. Which honestly speaks more to their durability than Commencal/Muc-Off racing with them 😂 They're sold as individual wheels, but complete sets retail for $700 (CB hubs) and $900 (i9 hubs), and the rims carry a lifetime warranty—a first for Crankbrothers on alloy rims. There is also a DH/e-MTB model. https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/wheelsets/crankbrothers/synthesi… Highlights - Reinforced...

6/13/2025 7:56am Great question. This might be the best thread on Vital. I have so many to share, but a great one is showing up to a shuttle day with all my riding gear, a change of clothes, lunch, electrolyte drink mix, etc, but I forgot my bike. For everyone else that meant they got a designated full-time shuttle driver that day.

6/13/2025 7:54am Fair question. Money is definitely one reason why we haven't bought an Intend to test ( or 2772 reasons). In a perfect world, I would love for Vital to buy all of our test products at MSRP, like Consumer Reports used to do (Consumer Reports is now a dead husk of their former self). But buying all our test products would require either a) more revenue from advertisers, or b) moving to a subscription model and charging viewers, which other bike sites have done (Velo, Radavist, etc), or c) more $$$ from advertisers AND charging viewers for a subscription, which...

6/11/2025 11:07am Read the interview and understand the reasoning. My (slight) disappointment has nothing to do with the current political stuff. I'd be sad to see a Canadian company fall under outside ownership, regardless of what's happening on the international stage. Also, Tim Hortons is garbage coffee and has always been garbage coffee. Support local roasters who work with and buy from small farms. Quality > quantity for bikes and for coffee. Lol.

6/1/2025 6:15pm The rear brake normally does at least as much work, if not quite a lot more than the front. Not many people are truly 50/50 if you look at something like brakeace data, so its normal for the rear to get hotter. You can often see its more common for rear rotors to be discoloured more than the front too

5/28/2025 3:24pm this is my favorite topic hehe... heres my top 5. IYKYK #1 Derailleur Lockout - I made a video a while back on the "hall lock mod" no more b-tension slop, absolutely guarantee this makes your drivetrain last longer too. NEWER SRAM DERAILLEURS (mech/axs) NEED NO PARTS, just need to file down the aluminum spacer to 14.05-14.1mm. this one is #1 because it solves so many problems at once. chain dropping, cable suck (when suspension moves; cable is pulled through internal routing- mainly on santa cruz's) chainring wear, loss of confidence sprinting after a rough section etc... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IChC4h8WDkA see comments...

5/20/2025 4:32pm I want to congratulate Vital and Lawlor on the best content to come out of round 1. I hope to see this continute with a rotating cast of riders at every round. By following the riders over the course of a weekend the story lines come to the front and you see the drama play out from the riders point of view. 👏🏼

5/20/2025 10:27am I've mentioned this worrying trend in depth in a few podcasts over the course of last year. From last year they have hindered the ability of many top 50/60 riders to garner any points in qualifying. Pretty soon very few riders (even much less than now) will be able to rightfully enter a World Cup without being on one of the World Series top teams or federation entries. With the switch to the points now staying with the teams and not the riders this year there will even less power of advantage and bargaining for top riders. (Note if teams...

5/19/2025 1:56pm Yeah that seems like a reasonable technological solution, but I hate that it's this douchebag that's bringing it into DH. Continuing Neko's line of commentary... this is not the first situation where Daprela didn't take his hands off when everyone else would have.
