Personally I bought a shimano ebike in 2019 with over 30% discount for 3350€ and converted it into a mullet. If motor or battery fails I can buy e8000 or upgrade to ep800/801 and even but a bigger capacity BT-E8016 battery for a few hundred euros. I think a new motor costs between 700 and 800 €. BT-8010 batteries start at 400. Used stuff is considerably cheaper. I'm in the market for a new bike as the geo got a little too short with the mullet conversion but I have time because the bike still rides awesome and so I'll...

Plan? We’re talking about a PLAN? Going with no plan is pretty much the whole thing with ebiking…everything is awesome.

I have a Decoy MX base model uncaged 3. I’m going on my 3rd season and I plan to use the bike as long as possible. The only thing that I changed are the brakes (switched from sram to XT). I would love a coil shock but that’s a huge investment in my opinion. Tbh for my next ebike I would like to try a gearbox, the MGU from Pinion looks very good on paper. The only issues that I see for the moment are the prices and the limited availability (I think there are only 3-4 small brands that...

In the UK there’s a few small companies reconditioning motors and making improvements, so once the two years warranty is up, there’s a some hope! I guess I will treat it as something that needs removing from the bike, sending to a service centre, like your fork or shock. I want to keep my 18 month old Levo for at least another two years, or more. I can’t see the tech or geo making big leaps in that time.

I was just in Bentonville, Arkansas this past weekend. The self proclaimed "Mountain Bike Capital of the World". The mix on the trails was about 80% E-Bike. And to be fair an E-bike is absolutely the right tool for the job for the majority of the trail hubs. The industry sees the writing on the wall. Long travel bikes without motors are a terrible purchase for almost anyone, but a motor bike with a 170mm Coil and 180mm up front and you have a party machine that can get you anywhere. There will always be bicycles for those who enjoy...

During a transition stage at a race at Bootleg, I pulled over for Lopes so he could pass me (not on an ebike) on his e bike. Trying to be friendly said "there you go" or "have a good one!" No response, just a stone cold expression. He won the race but didn't bother sticking around for awards, too. Rachel Strait cheered me on during a final sprint at the end of a stage at Sea Otter one year. You best bet I gave it my all!

This has to do with "Old" tech. Anyone have any ideas as to why PinkBike took and deliberately shit all over DVO's out of production fork in a "new article today? And Kazimer defending the decision to publish is utterly ridiculous. Companies might want to re-thing where they put ad revenue. An honest review is one thing. Taking a bat to a company a year later?

There's a huge push being put on shops to sell E-bikes right now, and TBH, rightly so. Its finally a product that people want that actually makes shops money even if they are more of a pain in the ass on the back end. E-bike racing would certainly help push E-mountain out the door, not that in my area at least its an issue. Our local hill has three main climbs, two are about 430m high with an average of 10% grade and the other is 430m and 9km long so they pretty much sell themselves for people who have...

Absolutely noone wants to read your political posts, and your name dropping really isn't helping either. Loads of folk in the chat have contacts with high level names in the mtb world but dropping them like you are doing is just weird. We are all here for fun team rumours chat not politics. Take it elsewhere.

DH will never achieve mainstream viewership. It's more boring than baseball if you're not a dedicated fan. Anyone who tells you DH is about to "break through" is selling you a bridge. The Rampage broadcast could achieve mainstream viewership in theory, but the way they broadcast it live is SOOOOOO long and boring, and it's a just once-a-year event which makes it hard for people to attach to. As it sits, watching a live Rampage broadcast is a mix of boredom, white hot panic, and frustration.
