Not sure why Van's should pay his bills? It's terrible what happened but its pipe. Multipule people ended up in hospital at the contest. Luckily one had a helmet on. Did the sponsor of the WC pay all of Brook's bills? It would be great if the organizations would provide insurance for anyone in the organization doing their events but that would cost money so we know that's not happening

I don't know anything about BK's background, but the guy does 3 jobs. Team owner, team manager, and pro rider (top 5 in the world). He deserves to reap the rewards because that requires a serious amount of hard work and dedication, and of course talent. Not to mention his sideline projects such as the clothing brand. Plus the guy is super likeable, clearly loves riding, and is refreshingly open and honest in interviews. It would be awesome to see him standing on top of that podium in 2024.

Careful. If I remember right, literally a few seconds after he drops the 800k number, he explicitly states, that he's not claiming to earn that much.

One thing he mentioned that stood out to me was how Discovery/ESO don't understand mountain biking. He mentioned it focused on Enduro but it applies to DH as well. That's how we end up with the lack of story telling / buildup of excitement throughout practice, qualifying, semis, and finals. It's also how we end up with drone shots from far away or shots that don't show the rider's lower body or bike, and cutting away from the rider mid run to show the team manager. ESO simply isn't run by mountain bike racing fans. Additionally ESO is only focused...

BKs podcasts are so good as he just throws it out, $60k less budget compared to last year, riders keep the same salary and he takes the loss. And that sponsors are serious about reducing or even canceling enduro sponsorhip as there is simply no exposure from it. Also interesting bit about the Dyfi and how much that park does for the local comunity and that Dan has been elected as city council :D

Don’t think Gwin will be racing WCs from what I got from his interview in the Downtime podcast. He was asked if he’d do commentary full time and basically said if I’m going to be at WC events, I’m going to want to be racing. To me that sounded like he wasn’t going to be at the WCs this season, maybe focusing on his new bike park. Which I would like to visit some day soon, it’s either a 25hr drive or 4 connection flights lol 😂

No. Sorry my guy. Around these parts you must hate the ESO/WDB and convince yourself no matter what evidence is available that 2025 is the last year of enduro and DH finals will be Down to 5 riders in all categories by 2026. Have a great year. It's your second last

Any chance their taking this year to transfer Jesse to the DH team gradually and shutting down the enduro program? I’m 90% sure I remember him posting about riding the DH bike last fall and that could be a career extending, or maybe stabilizing, move.
