Don’t think Gwin will be racing WCs from what I got from his interview in the Downtime podcast. He was asked if he’d do commentary full time and basically said if I’m going to be at WC events, I’m going to want to be racing. To me that sounded like he wasn’t going to be at the WCs this season, maybe focusing on his new bike park. Which I would like to visit some day soon, it’s either a 25hr drive or 4 connection flights lol 😂

Any chance their taking this year to transfer Jesse to the DH team gradually and shutting down the enduro program? I’m 90% sure I remember him posting about riding the DH bike last fall and that could be a career extending, or maybe stabilizing, move.

Keep in mind a manufacturer can’t really void a warranty. They can disclaim damage due to particular things. A warranty covers a lot of stuff. If your BB starts falling out that’s not related to fork and should still be covered. But if anything starts happening to the head tube you may be out of luck. Personally I’m a fan of dual crowns because it’s really the best solution to CSU creak. Have run them on bikes that weren’t really supposed to have one and would do it again. That's all good and well but lets face some facts here - Cube bikes are junk (I worked closely with the brand at a distribution level), the kinematics were average at best and the frame failure rate we saw was out of control, more than 50% of carbon bikes sold came back with cracked frames and they were horrendously slow with turnaround time on replacement frames, always looking for excuses. I think it's doing Meg White a disservice to call her just an "influencer" - she's a legit racer with multiple national level wins. As for sponsoring influencer over athletes - remember, it's a marketing arrangement. The sponsor picks the people to support who will most likely move the needle in terms of sales. Precisely. I think a very, very smart move for Forbidden. She’s got a very strong following on the U.K. Instagram/YouTube bike scene (if you’re into that sort of thing). She posts regularly, engagement is high and she comes across as very friendly and approachable. All great attributes for a brand ambassador and it won’t be costing Forbidden much more than a couple of ‘free’ frames a year. They know exactly what they’re doing.
