astrizzle Added a comment about press release Taken Cycles Launches from Boise, Idaho with an All-Mountain/Enduro Frame - The Encounter
5/27/2026 8:55pm How is this different from the Vampire bike? lol they look pretty darn close in my eyes but I'm not an engineer so 🤷♂️. Was this the "other" canfield brother who made this?

astrizzle Added a reply to Transition Spire Angleset suggestion
4/15/2026 9:23pm You guys are amazing bike nerds in the best possible way, thanks for sharing all the information there. I did end up going with the +1 degree headset but hopefully they redo the spire in the next year or so and correct the geo mistakes they made on the first model. OR maybe just save up all my money and...

4/15/2026 9:19pm I set up a Spire with a +2 angle set and 27.5 rear wheel (low setting) for my son in law. We were looking for ride characteristics similar to my Raww Madonna V3 (also with 27.5 rear) and we are pleased with the results.

4/15/2026 9:19pm I think what you might be looking for is called a RAAW Madonna. But I would just try a 1.5, then you can use both positions at the shock and not be so low or try a 27.5 rear wheel in the high position and not be too far off of stock.

4/15/2026 9:19pm I have no opinion on the topic here, just wanted to tip of a website where you can play with different adjustments in the geo-calculator att www.bike-stats.de/en Here is the 2022 Spire in size large, low setting and with a fox 38 170 mm fork. 1 degree Compared with the differences between high and low setting. And the other angle sets 1.5 degree 2 degree

astrizzle Added a reply to Matching Brand Suspension
4/6/2026 1:19pm For myself I'd like to think it's a performance thing but it is ALSO an "looks" thing. Matched tires and suspension just feels and looks right to me. That's why I never understood when big companies like Santa Cruz mix suspension brands on their stock builds, ugly!!

2/20/2026 9:40pm I know multiple enduro bros who bought a stumpy evo as a second trail bike and ended up selling the enduro and keeping the evo. I’m a big fan of the spire. Quite lively for a 170/170. You could also get a shorter stroke shock and make it 160 too.

I've had my Rocky Mountain Altitude power play since late 2022/early 2023 and I've never had a problem with it crapping out even if the company may not be around for much longer lol. It's their own proprietary motor but so far it has done a good job, I hope it will last!
astrizzle Added a reply to Tweener: make a small bike big, or a big bike small
2/18/2026 9:09pm The way most companies scale their geo numbers with larger sizes these days, I would have to say it's better to go smaller. Hopefully soon these big name companies will start making size specific geometry for reach and chain stay length on every size sadly only a few companies are doing it these days (forbidden, frameworks, banshee, etc.) but it...

astrizzle Added a reply to Modular Bikes: Evolution or Devolution?
2/2/2026 2:21pm I really really want to think that modular bikes like the Rallon are the "future of mountain biking" but Guerilla Gravity had a great modular bike system that even was made in the USA and they still failed in the end. This makes me think that the concept of modular bikes are doomed to fail. I can see how that...
