10/10/2024 9:36am Crab-country bikes Edit: looks like the flex is built into the chain stay, which looks to slim out right where the pivot on the current one is. I think most of the rest flex in the seat stay, no?

10/10/2024 9:34am The biggest problem with hexloc was consumers complete inability to understand how to remove their axle despite being demonstrated live and in front of their face several times. I can't see a company like Fox adopting it because even though it provides superior stiffness at the same weight, customers are too stupid to make it work. Source: the utter misery of selling bikes that came stock with hexloc axles.

10/7/2024 7:15am There is a huge amount of CNC machine work in Taiwan/China. It's also possible to have complex items as part of larger orders. Not everything has to be done in the USA. I don't have a full steerer, it's similar to the intend fork with a nub sitting into the bearing and a bolt through to preload

10/7/2024 7:09am Rumour of my demise have been exaggerated. We are safe. But we are forever changed. A water & wind event of near biblical proportions hit us & has taken far more lives than can be counted. Didn't know where to make my one post, but this will be it for a long time. No politician, no plan, no design could have stopped anything that happened here. A stream I could step across took the first home at the top of it. A friend lost 10 members of his family saving his wife and kids watching his parents & relatives swept...

10/3/2024 3:40pm You're missing out on the fact that the teams are private businesses and they don't have to hire anyone. If they don't want someone with potential baggage, that's their prerogative. Given that racing is essentially done exclusively for marketing, it's no surprise that the big teams are taking a pass on him. There's not some grand conspiracy trying to hold back your boy, just businesses doing cost/benefit analysis to what he'd bring to their brand image.

10/3/2024 1:15pm The saddest thing about this image is that AI thinks the most typical full sus mountain bike has a motor. And headset cable routing. 😢

10/3/2024 8:23am "IIRC average height in the US is 5'9" for adult males" This explains the proliferation of massive, lifted, 6l pick ups perfectly.

10/3/2024 8:23am If this is correct, it leaves a big hole in the sizing and that hole is where the majority of adult males in the US would be. IIRC average height in the US is 5'9" for adult males which equals to somewhere around a 470ish reach give or take depending on body proportions. Seems like a big oversight if true.

10/3/2024 8:22am I know anything about a new saint group feels like beating a dead horse at this point, but it caught my attention that the Pivot mechanic specifically mentioned the Saint cranks. I know when the lugged prototype was first rolling around it was on Raceface Atlas cranks with Saint stickers, but the latest pics do look like Shimano cranks. Not 100% sure if they're just relabeled XTs or XTRs but seemed interesting. Also Cascade I think it might be past your bedtime, but we'll let it slide in exchange for some Dominion brake booster spy shots...
