Mugen Liked a reply to forum topic Tire weight deviation
11/10/2023 10:55am There was an interesting podcast with Nino Schurter's mechanic on pinkbike (yes, you can actually write that name and say you visit the site on this forum...). He claims that he gets batches of tyres at the start of the season, weighs them all and separates them into light/normal/heavy, they mostly use the normal ones, heavy ones come out for rocky courses. They don't use the light ones because the weight suggests there might be a flaw or imbalance in them, that was the most surprising revelation!

10/25/2023 10:46pm i'm pretty blown away to have to say this to grown adults (i assume) in our forum, but every time someone trolls or says something you don't like, quoting it and explaining why it's lame/unsavory/kooky/political only makes the thing you dislike live on for days. in the history of the internet, has anyone ever changed their mind and said "you're right," after being challenged/critiqued/criticized/called out in a forum? not that i'm aware of. the garbage has been moderated for now. if you don't like something said here, use the thumbs down, move on, watch it die and it'll be forgotten...

10/20/2023 9:35am As a CFO (outside of the bike industry), and a lifelong mountain biker, I've been following the current boom/bust cycle in the bike industry. I have very reliable sources at GG and banker friends who lend to multiple bike companies or their parent companies. @whitesq comments on GG are basically correct, they sold a majority equity position to a private individual investor. Initially they believed that investor had a shared vision for the company which included developing high end bikes and ebikes, in addition to growing their in house domestic revved carbon manufacturing as a contract manufacturer to other bike...

9/18/2023 12:05pm It's based on budgets. Those budgets are a financial blueprint for company activities and, due to a slow down in sales right now, the budgets are not adding up. This means they are getting re-balanced, and companies are looking for ways to cut expenditures to make the math add up. Budgets set during the covid boom may not have reflected...

9/8/2023 12:13pm once again, look at all the high-number plates with a good quali today. 6th place has a 43 plate 9th has a 62 plate. 17th has 67 plate 19th has 72 plate 23rd has 84 plate and so-on if bulk of those riders aren't on the circuit b/c of a tighter format...#snooze

9/1/2023 9:49pm Myself and 4 friends bought either the carbon or the alloy version of the Rise within the past 1.5-2 years. Not one person is still riding them. All of us are 40-something, good riders, technically capable with full home workshops and some with past bike industry experience. -Woefully inadequate spec for an ebike - fox 34, 2 piston brakes w/180mm rotors, light weight trail bike tires. All need to get replaced immediately with parts appropriate for an ebike - keep this in mind when you consider what the actual weight of the bike will end up being, because there goes...

4/14/2021 1:14pm Depends on the Slayer. The 27.5 and 29 have different amounts of travel and overall progression. I'm 6ft, 175lbs before gear, and use a range of 400-425 on the 29, and 450-475 on the 27.5. Here's the starting chart for Slayer coil setup: https://www.bikes.com/sites/default/files/resources/MY20_Slayer_SpringR…

5/13/2019 10:15am 3 reasons. 1. because 97.5 is a radio station. B. "reverse mullet" is breaking our community apart and we need to come together. III. beavis and butthead would laugh at 69er. if we need to go to court over it, our lawyers said that the "6" could come from "650b" and we'd probably have the case thrown out.
