Some cool tech on Loic’s lower clamps. Split clamp design. Similar to some options we’ve seen on motocross bikes. A good article and test from Luxon about split clamps. Not sure if MTB right side up forks will have the same benefit, but a good read. https://www.luxonmx.com/blog-luxon-split-triple-clamps-flex-advantage.h…

I remember Ben cathro talked about how a long time ago orange made him a custom dh bike based on his height that had similar numbers to what he rides now and he didn’t get along with it. It was a massive change from what he was used to and he struggled with it. Ultimately going back to riding a stock or near stock bike. so pros, consumers, and bike designers alike seem to benefit from the slight geo changes every few years but a huge change just doesn’t work for most people. Especially true if they are on the...

Road cars have a lot of compliance built into them mostly to prevent NVH. Racecars don't have it in order to get more precision and more control over the wheels. Moto GP is notorious about compliance since they are leaned over so much and it gives them more grip... I'm really wondering what Commencal found out with the steel chainstays...

Eventually with even shorter cranks, even bigger bars than Dak we will resemble monowheels with our supreme upright posture. The stack increase is an interesting development, it's not a reaction to the extreme reaches some frames come nowadays, it's restoring a normal body position with the benefits of a long wheelbase.

Regarding tight liaison times: I think people are lacking context following other racing disciplines, especially road racing. In road racing, what determines the cream of the crop who race the Tour de France (World Tour) vs others (Pro Tour) is endurance and durability. The World Tour racers can hold 85-90% of their FTP for 6+ hours and end a race sprinting near their max, whereas Pro Tour racers see a much higher rate of degradation in power output over the same length of time. Similarly, the EDR racers who had issues making the Finale times are simply not as fit...
