I could see these being a helpful training tool for isolating different skills in a coaching environment (like doing drills with only one ski), but to me these things look terrible for general use. And I don't just mean because you can't pedal, I mean I wouldn't want to ride skate parks, dirt jumps, or pump tracks with these. Or A-Line. I don't want to keep my crankarms dead level when I'm riding. Dropping an outside foot lowers my leverage point on the bike by 175mm. Why would I want to lose that? Believe it or not, I have one on my bike, and a chain on a few other bikes. Bending with and without load is not the same thing,and the energy used by bending a belt is fairly constant,while chains friction increases with power. There's a dedicated thread to all this now, just saying like someone else mentioned, there's a lot of confirmation bias and a huge echo chamber talking about drag, but I literally just have 2 bikes next to me, one with a belt, and one with a chain I didn't lube after riding yesterday. I feel a lot of people that would complain about the gearbox efficiency making a perceivable difference to their enduro or all mountain ride would be the same people with overbuilt wheels, fox 38, cushycores, and downhill casing tires for multiple blues a maybe a black diamond trail for their saturday ride. Then finish it off with pounding back 4 IPAs and some cake later that day.

AFAIK it was never confirmed he was signed to GasGas. He has a few photos and the rumor mill picked it up. He is/was probably in talks with them though.

Bushing require tight tolerances and proper maintenance. The cycling industry is crappy at tight tolerances. Most cyclist are crappy at maintenance. It's a win win resulting in the horrible reputation that bushings have. Like press fit bearings, they are the correct engineering solution. But that would require the bike industry to stop being crappy.

My guess

To me this seems silly, defeating the whole point of a Horst Link. The impact on the virtual axle path (and therefore most things besides anti-rise) between a Horst link and a single pivot or spilt pivot is pretty minimal. The main benefit is that you can define your anti-rise. Back before the Horst Link patent was up, and I was considering getting a Brake Therapy adapter for my Kona, I thought of the following workaround for single pivot, faux-four-bar suspension layouts to isolate brake forces. If you need to fine-tune your anti-rise indepenent of everything else, on a per-rider...
