Maybe it's been discussed already, but what are the requirements to be considered a team? Do all the rider need to be on the same frame sponsor? Do they need to share a minimum number of sponsors? (I.e. could Gwin and Neko be on the same "team" but ride different frames?

The difference between the 2 is that Red Bull's events are private events, organised, produced & broadcast by them. They can invite whoever they want, no one can argue otherwise. WBD are organising World Cups on behalf of the UCI, the world governing body for competitive cycling events. They should be completely neutral & the only way to be free from bias/influence is to go off points for all teams. Personal opinion... I don't agree with handing control of the highest level of a sport to a TV production company to shape it how they want. I think I might've...

I generally agree, however winter sports are incredibly expensive where I am and it's mostly money you never see again. Resort accommodation or transport, lift passes (which exceed $200/day!) etc. At least when you spend $5-10k on a bike you have an object you can hold on to for as long as you like, and can ride it whenever and wherever you like!

Bike weight claims should be backed up with a picture. V1 Druid with ext coil and dd tires in medium was almost 36 lbs with pedals and a tube/tool attached

Dang that bike looks rad. I love the versatility of the three pivot locations if it really is as easy as just swapping a bolt trailside. Having the option to go from say 135-160mm vs 165-190mm of travel would be neat, too. I'll have to bug Chris to see about getting a test bike in the coming months...

Tricky topic. I've long felt one of the few people willing to put their money where their mouth with respect to sustainability is Yvon Chouinard, the founder of Patagonia. He's the only "CEO types" who has gone on record multiple times telling his customers to not buy something new and instead fix/use/wear out whatever they have; he seems to genuinely want to put the idea of sustainability over that of the bottom line. Well a person has two options: 1) Try to make the best decisions possible (vote with your dollar) while still living life. This is in regard to sustainability, social causes, etc. OR 2) Take up direct action to spark a groundswell revolution and remove the late-stage capitalist system that will ultimately destroy the planet if not reigned in. Very few if any are choosing number two, so might as well strive for option one. Or just pick nihilism and wait for it all to crumble anyway.

One thing I don't understand with race coverage (applies to RB, WBD and whoever broadcast this event) is why on runs with reduced coverage they show the same part of the track over and over again. The cameras are all set up, why can't they show different parts of the track as different riders are coming down. It'd be far more interesting than seeing the same sections repeatedly. Is it just down to lazy direction? Imagine you were a new viewer tuning in to your first race, just to spend the first hour watching riders hit the same sections of...

Well what an absolute $hit show that was. After paying for a subscription of total garbage that i dont want then paying the EXTRA for the sport package to watch the World Cups. I find out after all my beers are cold and my ribs and wings are well on the way to being ready for the group of riders coming to watch on the big screen that my subscription provider DOES NOT HAVE the World Championship.
