Hahaha "They are claiming their paid channels have significantly more views than the highlight shows on the most popular (and free) streaming platform in the world." @sspomer, well put. I agree, this reporting seems off. Anecdotally, most people I know now ONLY watch the highlights because its free. Which is a shame because the racing has been bonkers these last few years.

Good to know I have the same rig and am thinking about running one of these. Might try the Ratio Components to dodge the issue. Would prefer to not give up stack on top of my steerer tube.

FWIW I needed to install MRP’s +5 mm crown race to run the Noken on my Specialized Enduro. Worth it.

Infinite tweaking of limit screws and b-gap screws on derailleur with no success of getting it to shift well with no luck. Oh yeah, the frame bolt is loose. I've done this one enough that it's now one of the first things I check.

I am a slightly obsessed shade tree bike wrench... Wrenching on my bikes fills a void that is created from quitting racing/wrenching on motos, rc cars, spec miata and performance street cars. I go looking for things to service/maintain on my bikes as working with my hands is my escape from work. My bikes are 99.9% dialed and I am always over prepared. That being said, there's some dumb shit that I have done, and continue to do repeatedly. -I frequently forget to tighten my brake caliper bolts after doing fork service or bleeding the brakes. One of the guys in the pic below threatened to shoot a cyclist few weeks back. You guys wanted Pandora's Box opened. I grew up gaining permission from other land owners to ride with their kids on bicycles then motos. Anywhere we took a bike, a moto poached & did not care if we got kicked out. Sig rig dude! I've always loved the look of this generation of Tracer frames and colorways. Still haven't been able to swing a leg over one but they seem to be an amazing ride!

Terrible for the pivot guys On the belt drive topic, I think the fact that someone crushed a two day, seemingly back to the olden days of Enduro style race without a mechanical on varied conditions shows they they might actually be something that can happen at the top of the sport. It'll be interesting to see how they hold up over a DH race week.

Wouldn't it be possible to give each rider a top notch action camera and hook it up to a system like they use for the drones at downhill and what not, and just broadcast it. Riders unlikely to finish in 15th place or worse can just get an extra weight attached to the bike. No need for a commentator, just put Josh Carlsson on an E-bike and have him cruise around and chat with the riders between stages. I'd watch that.

I'd agree that $150k USD might be steep for Danny these days. But I reckon he's getting at least $100k after some good results this year and his name. This will be the final 'big' contract of his career. Probably a 2-year deal. Maybe $80k-100k base, with bonus opportunity. The reason I think he could possibly be 100k+ is that Danny is a well-loved character, and is a consistent finals guy. Norco is now a full-blown marketing machine and they will find ways to bring his likable personality to the fore and get eyeballs on the brand.

There are a few factors: - Norco is owned by LTP, which is a distributor of other brands in Canada. Norco has long been financially floated by the relative profitability of LTP - At one time Norco had a solid XC team, a DH team, sponsored the Gehrigs for Enduro and had Jill Kintner and Bryn Atkinson, and a bunch of others at the same time not too long ago. Its not crazy at all to think that he is making more than an engineer at the company, almost any other sport is like this. Its just a bike company we are talking about its not like you need to pay an engineer 250K a year.

The numbers I pulled are from the UCI website. They show DH riders as: 2019 - 134 2020 - 156 2021 - 147 2022 - 238 2023 - 222 2024 - 227 From what I can tell, these are riders associated with UCI registered teams (standard and elite). My guess is there are additional riders (privateers, national federation, riders with enough points but aren't on a team, etc) that aren't in the UCI data.

Not sure how this relates to the continental series, but looks like a pretty solid calendar and venue selection for 2025. There are two races before the WC starts off, so there's possibly opportunities for those golden tickets we've heard of to get some use from the beginning? I did hear on the grapevine of another race in France that falls on the same weekend as Aprica which may well be on the continental series, so I'm holding my breath for now. EDC #1 04.-06.
