based on this week's events gonna throw strava here as a wild card, they thought it was a good idea to file a lawsuit based on a questionable patent against a company ~25x their size (based on net worth)

Please take the personal opinions about the general concept of e-bikes somewhere else. Here, for example: https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/hub/e-bike-talk-not-tech-rumor-derailme…

Lifetime warranties are a horrible idea even if people like me loooooove them. I ride stuff for a long time, and anything (not just rims) that's not a total boat anchor will eventually break. I've literally never had a rear rim that I didn't eventually ruin, and I'm fine with that. I don't want an insanely expensive 700g carbon rim that will actually last a lifetime and not tank the company with warranty claims. I'd rather run an EX 511 equivalent rear at 550g-ish and I'll lace a new one over when needed. Sometimes pointy rocks are in landings -...

Interesting post from Gwinny about a crash he had at the U.S. Open last week, and the onsite services that were available through Dirt Medical and NeruoCatch to diagnose and test for a concussion. Sounds like the next level in safety that DH races need.

I think you are spot on in your assessment. Ever since COVID the "warranty wars" have kicked way off with every carbon hoop needing to have "lifetime" warranties to sell because someone started offering said lifetime warrnaty (I wonder who did it first? Reserves? ENVE? I forget). Now you even see aluminum hoops with lifetime. Which if we are honest...

Can someone explain how the business model for carbon wheels ever worked? I buy a wheelset for $1.5k and it has a lifetime warranty. I swap them from bike to bike indefinitely because I've invested a good chunk of money in the hoops. I am never a repeat customer unless I take up the n+1 bike life, or go mullet /full 29 (feel like most people know which rear wheel size want on this front at this moment in history) Said, carbon wheels company now has to spend tons on marketing to try and court new customers for almost every...

I was doing alot of research on F+B and CSS this past week or two, being intrested in some carbon wheels. I was never able to figure out what the hell else CSS actually made other than bike parts, 99% of which was rims. Sad to see them go. Its been real tough for the "alternative" carbon brands ever since...

The drag on skis or a snowboard is way lower than on a bikes tires. Mechanically, you are melting a tiny bit of snow with the base of your skis/board and creating a slip plane that you then slide across. Whereas bike tires are attempting to dig into the ground lol.

Cool to see a World Cup track with slow speed tech corners instead of the usual stuff of the last few years. Could (hopefully) make for some cool special lines people might keep in their pocket until their race runs.

Impressive for Dak to win on that track after the injury. Definitely shows how good he is at generating speed from bike inputs. Should go a long way for his renovation goals. Both on and off the bike with that 15 k.

Canyon may need to capture the vibe Aletha got from this event and apply it to world cups. Not sure if it can possibly transfer over but she was just vibin in the zone.

The only Way I see is BK's Youtube channel but, Thats been lacking alot lately + the switch to insta360 has really downgraded the videos. Is PFR going to a miss WC spot and only be a wild card in 26?

I am the biggest Rampage fan. I attended my first one in person in 2003 and even helped dig Shandro’s second place line a little. I’ve been to multiple others since. I generally even think the judging has been correct every single year. I also don’t care that the lines are highly manicured now or that tricks (if done up high and off a substantial feature) score really well. Overall, I have very very few issues or bones to pick with Rampage. That said, they NEED to find a fresh brand new venue! Recycling old sites that have been used...
