Regarding the 2023 Super Deluxe, Disclaimer- I don't have dyno readings ;-) I've had the good fortune of receiving support from Rockshox for my race team 'RaceKraft' which is a Jr Devo team. EDR is just the 3 letter acronym for enduro. Downhill is DHI, Cross country XCC, XCO, XCE, XCM... This is just a short form to appear on results sheets/quickly differentiate between similar disciplines (especially in XC), even the UCI don't refer to downhill solely as DHI, I don't understand why people are getting torn up over it.

Santa Cruz acting like they make some high quality frames because they don't glue in liners but at the same time show a void in their carbon which the unnamed frame does not have. The glued in liners might not be pretty, but at least they don't play a part in the frame's integrity

The DMR bushings are literally soft plastic. Not good plastic like IGUS, but cheap, soft plastic. Easy to replace, but buy them in packs of 4 or 6 since they wear out super fast compared to other pedals and replacement bushings sometimes are out of stock everywhere. The bigger issue is their axles bend easily. The pedal bodies are good quality, but all the internals and axles are super cheap junk. If you're not an axle-bender, then they're probably fine. Deity uses higher quality axles with better heat treating. You can also buy individual axles - if you're like me...

I liked the grip of the Vaults but the reliability was pretty poor. Developed play after a short period so rebuilt and the same thing happened! They are now in the pedal drawer as a back up. Currently trying a set of 5 Dev enduro pedals on one bike and e13 alloy pedals on another.

I do like to think about how other sports influence riding styles. Personally I grew up skiing, and always was encouraged to be "in the middle of the camber" so I'm used to being in the middle of my "traction points". Since, I've preferred a more balanced and centred position on the bike. If a rider has no other sport's influence, how do they ride? If a child is never spoken to, what language would they speak?

Oh yeah, my banh mi have become a dig day tradition that I love doing. I'll definitely be sponsoring a day or two where I make up a huge batch of slow cooked lemongrass pork and pickled carrot/daikon to spoil the crew with tasty sandwiches.

Listened to a bit of the Ride Along podcast and realized Team Robot was clearly trying to send us a hidden message in the photo!!! The hands are a dead give away! One is clearly the NC State wolfpack gesture which is a similar species to a fox (aka Fox Factory). The other hand is in a rock-on gesture, so obviously Rockshox. ^^ This! I have narrow forefoot with a craaazy high instep. Flats I'm OK just running laces fairly loose (with thicker socks), but clips on MTB or road need each section of the shoe to be snugged separately or my circulation gets cut off. I'm staunchly anti-velcro on any other bit of clothing, but love it for shoes.

My issue with systems like BOA or single-velcro shoes is that I like to be able to adjust tension across my foot. I tend to experiment with lacing patterns, and for longer rides I like to have a looser toe-box than for pedal-and-plunge rides. Velcro needs to be 3 straps, otherwise laces are my top pick. I tend to have issues with BOA for all the reasons stated in OP, but also in longevity as the BOA wire cut through the parts of the shoe meant to hold it on. I had 3 springs tested by my suspension tuner. Fox Steel 500lb measured 480lb Fox SLS 475 measured 435lb Fox SLS 450 measured 452lb So with that said, I don’t trust any label on a spring unless it’s verified. Hit up Ryan at Fluid Focus in Temecula CA. You can prob get a spring that is tested at the rate you are looking for.
