4/8/2024 1:21am That isn't a Jekyll front triangle - it has a straight top tube with a shock mount hanging from it! Not a Jekyll seatstay either.

4/7/2024 10:03am Ratboy on the Cannondale DH proto frame. Wonder if they are reviving the concept, or he was just looking for a DH bike and they gave him the old frame that was kicking around.

4/6/2024 1:52pm So good! Question for everyone: Do you dig the '17 Questions' format? I always enjoyed them growing up, but that was back when getting more insight into your favorite racers/industry peeps wasn't as easy as it is now. They don't do very well on the Toob, which doesn't really matter, but I'm still curious if people are fans of the format.

4/6/2024 1:34pm Honestly its not a bad idea. We know companies come here. If there is a specific forum that shows how stupid their prototype frame is with its new flashy feature that no one asked for *COUGH* INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING…….. *Cough*… then maybe. Just maybe. Someone will say, “yeah ditch the idea.”

4/6/2024 4:33am you believe 5mm of real travel increase would make a difference? 5mm like less than 1/8" Theres no way youre feeling 5mm of rear travel difference, give yer head a shake

4/4/2024 2:53am Same with me. I'm just shy of 2m and I went to an XL Geometron G1 with 535mm reach and a 79' ESTA. It was incredible to have a bike fit well finally. But it was just too long. A 1350 wheelbase is monstrous. It doesn't fit berm arcs and some climbing switchbacks are barely possible. Last year I switched to an XXL Megatower which is a little less extreme by every measure but is a much more versatile bike. I prefer the 520 reach over 535 and the 2cm less wheelbase remains proportional yet can happily fit all berms...

3/30/2024 12:06pm Fox released gold lowers in 2014 already and they don't look that good imho. Same reason behind the idea as white marzocchi forks - to make you buy new stuff.

3/28/2024 11:21am Different sport, but also more knee reliant. Johnny Collinson, professional free skier blew everything in his knee (ACL, MCL, PCL, LCL, fractured tibial plateau, and even patellar tendon I believe) and has made a full comeback. It took ~2 years and he is a fitness freak. There have been NFL running backs who have been back on the field in 9 months post ACL. I think a return by the end of the season would be feasible if the rider really wanted it. That said, like others have stated here. I’d take my time and focus on next season.

3/28/2024 11:15am Not all pros are anal and picky about their setup and just ride what they get. They are simply fast. Some need to tinker to hell and back. It's the same with average riders, some thinker and some just ride. There is no sense to bemoan people that take a different approach to riding. As long as they articulate their feelings and can defend them rationally, it's all good in my book. Same goes for the Yeti vs. Specialized choice, if you can defend the choice of the Yeti by saying "I want what I want" it's much better than...

3/28/2024 11:12am So many comments recently with people being overly pedantic about reach numbers. (Not just here). 10mm is literally nothing. Swap a 50mm and 40mm stem , get narrower or wider bars, try a different back sweep. Get thinner or thicker grips, bar roll stem spacers, adjust your cleat position etc. H ell, the hand position difference between single collar lock on grips and double collar probably changes your torso position as much. Reach is just one aspect of bike fit. Writing something off because the reach isn't exactly a perceived magic number by 10mm without trying it is very close...

3/28/2024 11:09am Robert from The Loam Wolf here. I was the one who broke the Scalpel, and I’m not surprised I did - overshot the landing of a large jump for an XC bike, landing in the pocket between the landing and the flat ground after it. Huge bottom out. I corrected Kaz at Pinkbike’s quote - he had flatteringly guessed me to be 190lbs, whereas I am 220lbs. Nothing fishy. I wholeheartedly believe the Scalpel is fit for purpose and that it was my fault! Was having far too much fun and got carried away.

3/28/2024 11:09am Sure, sure. But if a co doesn't cater to more than Typical Male measurements, a lot of the potential market will not be served well by the product. Maybe bad is an overstatement, but it certainly is an incomplete assignment.
