So it's shuttling with extra steps. Not only do I need the 20k side-by-side but a truck and trailer to go with and someone to drive it back down the hill after dropping me off. I've never felt so free.

I'm 198cm/6'5". I'm loyal to whichever brand makes a properly designed bike that fits me. So kudos out there to Nicolai/Geometron, Yeti, Santa Cruz, Transition, Atherton and Contra for making proper XXLs (and the brands like Norco and Knolly whose newer models in XL border on gigantic). And a big "just when did you plan on doing it?" to Specialized...
It's ridiculous to have both 30.9 and 31.6. But we should have one of them as 34.9 doesn't make sense for steel bikes but it's pretty much ideal for aluminum and carbon especially as seat tubes and post insertion lengths are getting shorter but seatposts are getting longer. I would see all hardtails and steel/ti bikes move to 31.6 and...

I have the SQ Lab 711 in large and they're really nice. Gotta first nail the roll of your bar then adjust the roll of the grips. They're quite soft, like Ritchey True Grips if you're old enough to remember those. They're kind of malleable in your hands but not as compressible as silicone grips. I like them a lot...

My Ulnar nerve in both arms, particularly the left, was compressed in my elbow. When my elbow bent, nerve conduction was decreased and the tissue surrounding the nerve was progressively damaging the nerve. If you watch ulnar transposition surgery on YT you can see it, the diameter of the nerve becomes much smaller around the compression point. Go step on a thin hose with water running through it and see where the hose narrows where your foot is, slows water passing through, and bulges slightly near your foot. That but with my Ulnar nerve, every time I bent my elbow...

So what exactly was the issue? Was surgery the only way? Are you happy with the outcome? I tore the TFCC cartilage in my left wrist a few years back and luckily repaired it with prolotherapy, which was pretty non-intrusive compared to the possible surgeries that didn't have great outcomes. I later had other wrist issues which I solved with...

It really goes to show how fit varies from person to person. I used to angle my brake levers so that they were roughly in a straight line with my arms when seated. But as I rode gnarlier and gnarlier things I levelled them off more since I spend so much of my riding off the back of the bike...

Another thing that really helps I haven't seen mentioned yet is brakes. I slide my levers a long ways inboard on the bar so that my index finger has maximum mechanical advantage over the lever. Plus I rotate the levers so they are closer to horizontal - this works for me because I live in a very steep place so...

I struggled with arm pump for years racing motocross but have never suffered actual arm pump on a mountain bike. Arm pump where you cannot pull the clutch lever enough to shift gears. Coming down the hill at Glen Helen moto 2 at 4pm is a come to Jesus moment when you have real arm pump. As I got older I paid more attention to my body position, technique, and strength training rather than just pinning it everywhere trying to beat the kid that had the nicer motorhome so my dad wouldn't hit me with the pit broom lol. Bar...

I've had lots of issues too. I have wide shoulder and very large hands. Switching to bigger grips helped a lot: I liked Sensus Meaty Paws then switched to SQ Lab 711 and settled on OneUp Thick which aren't the thickest of the ones I've tried but my wrists are the happiest. I tried some 12' backsweep bars that helped...
