no, the frame is designed to fit the SIDluxe and a FOX Float SL, that's it. I would have liked to make more shocks fit, but at some point I just had to wrap up and move on.

It is mentioned in the capture, that the fender is still missing, but I added a picture with the fender I printed.

Craw Added a comment about press release Tannus Releases a New Modular Tubeless Insert

4/12/2024 8:55am
I've had one flat in the last 4 seasons running almost exclusively EXO+ and that wasn't a sidewall tear, it was a puncture too big to plug. So no, I'm not in denial. I just ride with a measure of precision but if I'm going to ride with inserts, which is necessary at my weight to get both good traction and burp resistance, they need to be ride-flat capable because getting an unpluggable puncture means limping out. Which is possible for me with Octamouse and Cush Core Pro but absolutely not on TT. Maybe these new ones are better but...

Craw Added a comment about press release The New Super Z from Marzocchi

The stated weight of these new bombers (2180g) is much less than the Fox 38 (2450g). That's the better part of 1 lb difference. I guess we'll see when they turn up in person.

I'm 220lbs and it's absolutely not possible for me. Riding flat is basically just riding on the rim. Cush Core Pro and Octamousse Strong both can run flat for me. Just a caveat for other riders: claims of ride-flat capabilty are probably pretty generous so be warned.

The original Tannus tubeless insert was claimed to be ride-flat but it absolutely was not unless you're like 150lbs.

Craw Added a reply to How Much Reach is Too Much Reach?

That's entirely location-dependent. I never encountered a corner I couldn't make. Some tight double switchbacks had to be done exactly one way or the bike wouldn't fit. All berms can be ridden. All of these same features are easier and more fun to ride on my current bike with a 1330 wheelbase with no appreciable loss in stability. If anything...

Same with me. I'm just shy of 2m and I went to an XL Geometron G1 with 535mm reach and a 79' ESTA. It was incredible to have a bike fit well finally. But it was just too long. A 1350 wheelbase is monstrous. It doesn't fit berm arcs and some climbing switchbacks are barely possible. Last year I switched...

I'm in your size range but a bit taller at 6'6". My G1 had a 535 reach but only a 659mm top tube and 140mm head tube with a 79 ESTA and a massive 1350 wheelbase. I didn't like this that much. I switched to an XXL Megatower that's only has 520 reach but a 670 top tube which effectively...

Given how difficult it is to sell a used bike for a reasonable amount these days I'm less likely to take a chance on something or be a little flippant. I actually bought the last XL Dread last spring because I thought I miiiiight be able to make it fit but it was priced very well and would at the...

Buying once and crying once hits home. I recently bought a bike I thought was close enough... Then ended up buying the one I really wanted six months later. I could have just spent that half year playing around on my hardtail and saved the cash and hassle. Now I have N=(1 too many) and get to try to recoup my cost in this buyers market.

A new bike is a lot of effort. Not to speak of the terrors of selling your old frame to buy a new one plus sourcing whatever special parts you'll need to make your parts work. But having to get to know it all over again, figuring out how it rides, switching tires/bar/stem/etc and doing suspension setup. For me this...

Just to comment on the adjustment needing a 12mm. If you get an EXT shock in the US coming from Suspension Syndicate, the US EXT distributor and service center. The shock is provided with a small composite 3d printed tool that has a 12mm wrench and 4mm Allen key. Tool is tiny and weighs almost nothing, so no worries bringing it with even in a pocket.
