Bruni filming on a new bike for Specialized in Poland this week, per WynTV. I'm hoping that finally we'll see the new Demo make it's appearance after the summer break. Other candidates include the new enduro, stumpjumper, and I'm hoping it's not another ebike.

Hit the nail on the head with the last paragraph. Viewers/riders/fans/whatever you call them were far more tolerant of mistakes errors and missteps from the RBTV coverage as it was free. By charging for it, WB by default has set the expectation that there is a certain level of quality that needs to be delivered if they expect people to pay money for it.

Personally I don’t think full runs has made for better dh finals viewing. I’d much rather the focus be on having the best tracks. Including very long tracks where elevation and track design make it possible. Then simply film the best sections (biggest features and most technical sections where line choice and variance in speed is common plus the finish line). Personally I have found the new finals format to be more boring than the old one. Semis/lcq becomes a necessary evil. But offers a lot of points and has zero coverage. And let’s face it by race day there...

I don’t think the hate is unwarranted. these guys have greatly decreased interest in enduro “making it more professional” and they are ruining dh “making it a better broadcast”. There are going to be a lot of lost pro racers, mechanics, team managers, etc as the field continually gets cut. and as great as monster pro, ixs, dhse series are I don’t see how they will offer sponsors the same eyeballs or prestige the World Cup does. I think they have made really questionable choices in terms of broadcasting rights. And while I’m not totally against pay to watch services...

Bad idea to have elite racers descending blind through tight quarters in remote places low on blood sugar, dehydrated and near black out. Sure...in road and XC, you have similar responsibility to ride within yourself on descents. But nobody is lining the climbs of Finale to cheer on a looped out and cramping mid-pack pro. They'll be going bonkers for them on the rock slabs though. Cut Offs are there to ensure riders keep the race moving along. Not to see if their VO2 max is on par with Kate Courtney. The descents are the show.

I think one thing that has worked against them is that they have made a lot of noise and claims about how they are improving things and growing the sport. They have then fallen short on promises made on numerous occasions. From what I remember RB never got into the habit of blowing their own trumpet, instead they just got on with providing great coverage of WC events, alongside bringing ground breaking events such as Rampage and Hardline. Don't talk the talk if you can't (or won't) walk the walk.

The coverage is only part of the issues with UCI/WBD Enduro is being sidelined, geographic spread of events is shocking, rider numbers are being cut, privateers being priced out of racing, etc.. I'm in Scotland and ESO bought out our national series then canned it without explanation, and have ignored any questions about it. The Tweed Valley EWS round had a five year contract in place with landowners and they canned that after two years. They also screwed local riders by halting a major trail development to run the XC World Champs on the site, then bulldozed what they'd built...

Good list, and a few more (albeit minor): - Not talking about the splits until 10-20 seconds after they are on-screen - Show where we are in the running order (I saw it once, before the Dak's run "1 rider to go". Yeah, no sh*t). - Stop showing run times in green I don't mind paying if the product is good but it needs to 1. be easy and 2. not come bundled w/ a bunch of other crap I have zero interest in.

Reasons why Red Bull was better: 1) It was free and easy to view. 2) Because it was free more people watched it. 3) We saw more racing. Whilst the addition of Junior Finals coverage is a positive, the reduction to a 10 woman/30 man finals means we are now paying less race runs than ever before. 4) Red Bull's graphics were better. The virtual straight graphic was useful. The wiggly line graphic is pointless. 5) Some of the WBD camera position/type choices are terrible. The overhead drone shots at Ft William were like watching Google Maps. 6) Current coverage...

I'm no world cup rider, but I don't think those bars could have helped in that situation unfortunately edit: didn’t know this was so divisive

Hm good point actually as the rotor deflecting first bends it over, then the carriers need to go into an S shape (requiring much more force compared to simple deflection bending) before proper pad contact occurs. This makes a contact point into a contact line.

So full Trick is still better right? as an experiment i would love to try a set of hopes v4 but with different seals to run Mineral oil

Yeah. I have that. But there’s usually an article on PB that has write ups on each stage and such. Not blaming any of the journos, it’s just a sad indicator and a result of it happening as a prelude to everything else with the “real” action starting with DH. Misspent Summers is at least carrying the enduro torch.

Poor enduro. Pros are 3 stages in and no one on either site has posted a live timing article.

I was born in Poland, but I grew up in California....spent 40 years there. Now I'm back in Poland...as luck would have it....in Bielsko-Biała. For the past 3 years I've been riding most of the trails that'll be used at the event. Prior to that, my resume includes mostly Skegg's Point and Braille in the Santa Cruz Mountains, a run down Mt. Lemmon outside of Tuscon, and some Tapia Canyon (Castaic, California). I'm old and mostly ride motorcycles with MTB stuff peppered in here and there.
