I was born in Poland, but I grew up in California....spent 40 years there. Now I'm back in Poland...as luck would have it....in Bielsko-Biała. For the past 3 years I've been riding most of the trails that'll be used at the event. Prior to that, my resume includes mostly Skegg's Point and Braille in the Santa Cruz Mountains, a run down Mt. Lemmon outside of Tuscon, and some Tapia Canyon (Castaic, California). I'm old and mostly ride motorcycles with MTB stuff peppered in here and there. Nevertheless, I think I have some unique credibility here. So if you will endulge...

On the EWS "complaint", a top 20 EWS female rider would stomp a fitness mud hole in most people. If an elite athlete has no time for water between climbs, that's not trivial. That is not weakness. And the "season" isn't sneaking up on anybody. Promoter crammed too much of one thing in and not enough of another.

The good news is there's a big difference between Enduro and 4X. Enduro is probably the most available and economically possible way to ride gravity sports. 4X trails aren't easy to make and the number of willing participants is definitely not as high. I really believe this is an issue of trying to Make Enduro something like downhill because there's a crossover in athletes. E-enduro will never exist internationally because of the logistics costs of moving heavy ass parts about. Compare that to the fact any place in the world with 400 feet/175 meters of vert can throw an Enduro...

A revised mt7 cnc master, smaller piston for more power, rebuild kits available, lever design same as oak or hc3 that do not rely on the spring that would be sick

I saw in a few places that Spesh riders that are also sponsored by SRAM were “pushed” to race the Stumpy EVO when transmission was released because the Enduro didn’t have UDH and the EVO did.

Biathlon numbers are a bit cheeky, showing viewership numbers from broadcasts not behind a paywall. The past couple years paywall has turned viewership numbers of Winter sports to shit here in Norway, including Biathlon. Split screen commercials during long boring races isnt the problem. Split screen commercials in the heat of the action is our new normal. Paywall increasing viewership? would love to hear any success stories. (All well documented by our media, chose not to send links)

I'm speaking facts. I work in the imaging world and it's basic knowledge. Objects farther away, when viewed with a wide angle lens (like in the case of the shot we're talking about) appear to be moving slower. Regardless of the background. An airplane has clouds around it often (background) yet it's moving across the sky slowly from our vantage point, vs. if it was 250ft away from us. This is because an object very far away is only moving across a small distance of the image frame (or eyesight) in a given amount of time. Think of a NASCAR/F1...

"Aerial cam" AKA drone way too high up: What you're saying is the opposite of reality. The further away a camera (or person) is from a moving object, the slower it looks. Think about when you look up at the sky and a jetliner looks like it's slowly passing overhead. It's doing 500mph! The super high drone is good from scenic shots to put graphics over or establish the area the track is in, but is horrible for making an exciting race action broadcast. Those shots made me laugh as it looked like an tiny ant rider smoothly & easily...

I'm not persuaded that lockouts make as big a difference as many think. Tire choice is far more influential. Of course the top riders will be on the top technology by their sponsors. But I just think the correlation is the other way around- 4 of the top 5 riders were on electronic suspension because they are the top riders, its not making them meaningfully faster.

If the semis concept was not pointless enough, the lack of coverage makes the whole thing just silly. It's beyond me the number of riders who will return home on Sunday after a very expensive trip with almost no trace of coverage (thank god for the RAWS and several vlogs on YT) Also, as an spaniard, I still don't know how am I going to watch the race. Best bet right now is a replay on Eurosport on monday, probably with terrible spanish commentary. This is just wrong.

It is a shit show because there is no show. Teams should boycott the race and make clear that there should be return on investment

PB had all the juicy photos of Bruni's bike . They were testing rotor covers. You can al so see the bike with the cover off. There is also a brace on the derailleur hanger, I am too out of the loop on transmission stuff to know if it a stock piece. Looks like it is an electric motor that actuates the damping dials. There might also be something above the spring collar (preload adjuster?) but it's hard to see.

Really cool to see that he has 3 options, just wonder what changes those are doing. While on the Loic topic, I noticed he’s running split lower clamps like motocross bikes. Could be flex character he likes or just more even clamping for the stanchions the way the torque is distributed.

I was watching Bruni's Gopro footage from Fort William practice, and something caught my eye. From the footage you can actually see when he switches between damping modes from the LEDs on his stem. It happens at least 3 times: 1) blue mode off the start till at least the wood section (I did not check if he switches anything in the upper section); 2) green mode in the wood section until the second turn/shark fin after the road gap; 3) back to blue mode for the new fast section; 4) red mode from the bridge before the motorway to...

That new Fox kit is a clever attempt to take advantage of potential loopholes as to how clothing rules are worded in the UCI regulations for mtb ( see page 26). My personal opinion is that it violates the original intent as to why the regulation was written but is probably compliant to the verbiage of the rule. As this is a UCI World Cup event, I expect the PCP and the UCI-appointed TD to provide their opinion on the matter as soon as this particular kit is brought up in a managers' meeting or by another team. As this...
