Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
I would assume within the new couple years. They had the charger 3.1 out at the Taipei cycle show a few months ago. I'm sure its still in prototype phase. I just bought a new Zeb a few months ago and if the 3.1 is that much better, I can upgrade the damper.
June supposedly.
Padmelon steering damper too
More efficient, adjustable and lightweight I guess
Edit: also UDH
Anyone else having notification issues with this thread? For the last few days it takes me to the most recent post and I have to scroll back to see any other posts since my last visit. All other threads I'm subscribed to seem to be working as normal.
I saw in a few places that Spesh riders that are also sponsored by SRAM were “pushed” to race the Stumpy EVO when transmission was released because the Enduro didn’t have UDH and the EVO did.

It had a second shock to control down travel.
Watch his YouTube videos of comparing the stumpy evo vs enduro. He mentioned he preferred the efficiency and agility of the stumpy. And timed runs were very close. These pro ews guys can be fast on any trail/enduro bike( Verner winning on a 130mm Druid last year). Just comes down to personal preference for them.
Competitive Cyclist shared this electronic Transfer via email today (oops). I found this private page on Cambria's website via google. Maybe one of you nerds can figure out how to get better photos. idk.
860 usd I’m assuming?
thats a good looking bike (shapes and lines) Does it come in black?
Marin did a raw and black Rift Zone B-17 in 2018 that.was a great looking bike. They would do well to bring that colour back. Looking back for the image of the bike I saw that Nailid suspension thing, Marin should have never gone down that path and just done a Horst version of their Rift Zones, they would have more market share today if they had done Horst sooner.
Ahem, NAILD R3ACT 2PLAY

So big caveat, I don't think any of these steering dampers/springs make bikes ride better, and (esp. the KISS system) only have the potential to make bikes ride worse. That being said, if people want to spend money on one...

Heres my idea: instead of this guy above, which appears to fix the device on the top cap relative to the frame, and handle damping from the relative rotation of the frame->stem from on top of the stem, why not this:
1. Have the bottom the same, it fits over the top headset and anchors the entire device to the frame
2. Have a custom top cap, kinda like above, but thats fixed to the motion of the stem.
3. Have the connecting rod be an elastomer instead of solid alloy
Now the damping comes from stretching the vertical elastomer. This also gives you tension to return to the center, like the KISS system. This does both, is simpler/lighter/cheaper.
Thoughts?

They're this years o-chain.
There is but showing it now with the pile of the current stock would not be very productive.
in one of his YT vids, he did some timing and was quicker on the Stumpy on the course he selected.
You mean like a regular MX steering damper? If so, it wouldn't provide much damping at low degrees of bar turn. There was some discussion on this in the comment section of WRP IG account.
ok, keep the elastomer for bar return, add this for damping https://canecreek.com/product/hellbender-70-visco/
If it ain't broke why fix it! They have been in moto x for years and missy and a few others were using them back in the late 90's in DH.
They are not designed to go back to centre they are designed to stiffen up the steering to the riders liking so they can still corner and still steer the bike but in rock gardens and other parts of tracks where the wheel gets a bit squirly it wont let it happen as much.
And Moi Moi to miss the first EDR due to a "small washout" earlier in the week. New steering damper to blame?
An elastomer is not a steering damper. That's a centering spring. A steering damper makes slow (steering) movements of the bars relatively easy to do (not noticeable it's even there), but in case of a jack knife where there is a sudden big steering "input" it should prevent that.
Having an elastomer will just oppose bit changes in steering angle at all steering speeds and do mostly nothing in the middle when going straight.
A elastomer and the KISS is like having a spring and no shock, you want the shock more than the spring.
That i assume is a proto Formula fork, might be a 38mm enduro specific fork i guess
looks cool with this livery
What about the dual crown enduro fork? Does this one look 38 mm?
It would be weird for them to release new sc Enduro fork so quickly after they just released DC Selva. But to me it looks like it's not that thick, maybe 36mm. The biggest flaw of Selva is pm6 mount, that one doesn't belong on modern MTB fork
This is not true, at least not for the main enduro team. Running transmission is a benefit, not a reason, for running the stumpy.
WTF is going on here?

They are definitely running a different damper in the fork. This is from Ancillotti’s story. Looks like it could be the Nero damper (with the HSC dial taken off)?
