I think the pad is there since it's assumed riders will be clipping it as they try to stay tight through the chicane. A single pole would likely get kicked out repeatedly. I'm not saying it's possible in this section, but since the pole is outside the pad, wouldn't it be legal to jump over the pad instead of zig-zagging around it?

So stoked to see a proper enduro race and good coverage of it! Warning, mini essay on the state of Enduro ahead! I know the that downhill is more spectacular, and it’s certainly easier to cover, but there is something about proper enduro that really draws me in. If they let someone like Sam Hill enter at the cost of an upcoming rider fighting for a spot then I would definitely have an issue with that, but otherwise I wouldn't have a problem with granting an extra entry for certain "legends" being able to turn up - it would bring more attention to the race and I feel like those people have more than proven they wouldn't be showing up just to make up the numbers. Do some math on how many frames they have sold, at a premium price, and it's a pretty big number in terms of cash flow for a very small company. Protesting the podium is not going to work. You know what will? Protest the race. Would be amazing to have everyone qualify for DH finals and the. All go off course in the first 10 seconds and get DQed. No one gains a points advantage, WB gets screwed as they have nothing to broadcast.
